Hi Joy! Agreed, Kentucky girls are totally welcome. If we keep multiplying we can meet in a "central" location and form a chapter!
Enjoy!

Hi Libby,

was wondering if you found out anything regarding my friend who had signed up but had not heard a reply yet. I sent you an email and did not know if you recieved it yet or not. Her registered name she submitted was nubiedane. Anyway you can email me directly about anything you found out. Thanks a bunch.

Let's see where do I start? Of course, you know by now, my name is Joy. I am 46 yrs old, and have been married to the same guy for 30 yrs now. Yes, your math is correct. I got married when I was a mere child.

We have I child, a 28 yr old daughter. I always worked so hard at being a good Mom and stressed almost daily the importance of a good education and "living" a little before marriage. Little did I know that she would go to college 10 yrs and not get married until she was 28. I am so proud of her. She will graduate from Vet School in Dec. and Greensburg KY will have a new Vet. (She just married a guy from over there) She will be over in Frannie's neck of the woods! I am sure all of those good folks over there will make her feel right at home. Oops, almost forgot that this is to be about me.

I am the oldest child in a family of seven. We had a 110 acre farm when I was growing up and lived there part of the time. My family had country stores, at times we would live near the store. But, "the farm" was always home. Oh, such fond memories. Yes, I have lived without indoor plumbing. I know all about an "outhouse", taking a bath in a #3 wash tub, carrying water from a spring(that was over a hill and in those days seemed like a mile away!). Yes, I have milked a cow before going to school, helped churn butter, cooked on a wood cook stove, washed clothes in a wringer washing machine (and yes, I have got my hair, fingers and part of my arm hung in the wringer). I also, remember the cold floors, the fireplaces that only warmed one side of your body at a time, sleeping with 3 other siblings and having so many covers that you could hardly turn over. I remember shelling corn by hand ( for what seemed like hours), carrying in firewood, and gathering walnuts in the fall. Spring and summer was so hard but oh my, those were the days!

As you can tell by now, I am not a writer, so you all will just have to let me get my "feet wet", and "feather out a little" and I should do just fine. I think I will enjoy this group so much. I am looking forward to getting in on some of the SWAPS!
Got to run, I still have work to do.

From the Little Mountains
Joy

Joy - I loved your phrase "feather out a little". Better than any Frannie phrase so far!!!

I have to remember that one. Good to have you here for sure.

Hey Joy, I was just reading about your being from Monticello, I used to do lots of antiquing around there, I live over near Glasgow in a little burg called Knob Lick, I was born in London, its so funny I have done all the things you have, when I was 10 years old I was cooking on a wood cook stove, my gosh a parent would go to jail for child abuse if they let their child do that now, I have just joined the farm girl and I think its going to be fun Miss Wilma

What wonderful experiences you have had! I wish had just a droplet of your experiences. Here I am in my 40s and just beginning ... I have a lot to learn. Looking forward to getting to know and learning from you.

Hi Miss Wilma,
Her name is Linda Boldin. She is my dad's twin sister and is as funny as monkey and always a joy to be around. You have probably passed each other at the market!
