I checked the weather report last night before going to bed, and it said to expect snow flurries overnight (Which never happened. We're snow-free for one more day!)
Rather, it just drizzled and rained overnight. But...at about 3am, there was a HUGE flash of lightening (the kind that will light up a whole room) followed by a very loud crack of thunder. It was honestly the last thing I would expect to see or hear in November in Canada.
Weird and wacky weather!

I love thunderstorms, Alison.

It's very cloudy here today... I wish the temperature would drop and it would snow! Ha, yeah right... snow in SE Virginia in November. We're lucky if we get snow in January!

We've had a few flakes- especially this morning- it was really coming down. I find myself humming "Oh the weather outside is frightful......" I love the cold- bring it on!!!!!

Today in our neck of the woods, we were having snow showers.....WOOHOO, I just absolutly love cold weather! My DH loves warm weather..but that is another story...anyway, my 16yr dd, and my 8yr dd and I were outside doing the yippees' and yahoo's.....my one and only neighbor probably thought we were nutz! Tonight we are supposed to get snow showers all night...maybe it will be white tomorrow morning...I hope so!!! The only place I have ever seen lightening and heard thunder with snow was when I lived in Colorado Springs, CO....I was surprised too...but weather is funny....Warmly, Erica

So I googled the words "thunder" and "snow" and it turns out there is such a thing called "Thundersnow". It's a meteorological term for thunder and lightening which happens during a snow storm, rather than rain. I guess we did get a bit of snow last night after all!

We get thundersnow a lot here in Iowa. I am actually looking forward to a little snow. I didn't get to do any cross country skiing last winter because it didn't snow until January and by then I was on bed rest. And by the time I recovered from the c-section and got my blood pressure down, it didn't snow again. I just wish it didn't have to get so cold!

we're back to being unseasonably warm again here in the sooner state.. after our first frost earlier in the week. a lot of people seem to think we're in for a bad winter when it does happen.. if so, i'll just crochet until spring.
