Since this forum is for good and sad I thought I would share some good news. I won re-election for City Council last night (6 people were running) so I will begin my second four year term in January. I am very pleased as we have made much progress and I hope to continue working on that with my other council members.
Farmgirls are everywhere and capable of anything. We need more farmgirl influence in all aspects of government so we can start focusing on the "big picture" of the old values that make our country great and that farmgirls possess.
Not trying to toot my own horn here just wondering how many other farmgirls might be involved with their local government. We provide a "balance" that is so greatly needed.
And just an FYI, only a couple of our farmgirls live in the city limits and this election was only for residents of the city so I did not win because of I stacked the deck, but because I work hard, play hard and am able to voice an opinion and compromise when I need too.
I would love to hear from other farmgirls who are volunteering their time and energy in their communities.
We are never alone in the forest of Sisters! We "Mountain Farmgirls" are outstanding in our field! |

Wow! Congratulations, Rose!!
I've often thought of becoming involved in local goverment. I have a bachelors in Governmental Administration and I taught school for about 5 years. It would be interesting!
Again, congratulations on your accomplishment!
