Farmgirls, my DH & I don't use a microwave because it irradiates food, but this is a super delicious main course to prepare with or w/o microwave. (DH asks for this every week) I just cook my own noodles & use jar alfredo/garlic sauce.

Prepare and saute the additional ingredients while the pasta is in the microwave, and this dish is ready for the table in less than 15 minutes. Here's the recipe:

Microwave 3 (9.25-ounce) packages of Stouffer's Lean Cuisine Fettuccini Alfredo according to package directions. Saute 3 ounces chopped prosciutto and 1 (8-ounce) package sliced fresh mushrooms in 2 tsp hot oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat 3 to 5 minutes or until the mushrooms are tender. Add 1/2 C white wine, stirring to loosen particles from bottom of skillet. Add 1/2 lb fresh asparagus, trimmed and cut in 2-inch pieces, and 1 C baby green peas. Cook, stirring often, 3 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Stir in the hot Fettuccini Alfredo and 1/2 C shredded Parmesan cheese. Three ounces baked ham and 1/2 C reduced-sodium chicken broth may be substituted for the prosciutto and white wine. Makes 4 to 6 servings. Prep: 10 min. Cook: 8 min.

She considereth a field, and buyeth it; with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

Instead of using jarred alfredo sauce or making the real thing (very complicated and involves thickening eggs), I just make a white sauce and add parmesan cheese to it. I also tend to use sherry instead of white wine in my pasta primavera.

Sounds like some great options...shows how easily some recipes can be altered to fit our own preferences or what we have on hand. Thanks Amanda!

I saute garlic at the beginning of making the white sauce.
We have sautted onions, whatever veggies we have, chicken? Then add that to the cooked pasta, toss with garlic white sauce, maybe add some frozen pesto....And wa-la...Yummy dinner made almost as fast as making mac & cheese, but so much better!
