I bought these quilts when I bought the old stove(yesterday's post) and the Cathedral Window quilt. Does anyone recognize any of these patterns? They are all hand sewn. The doggie one is the one I most want to keep for myself(I'm keeping it on the bottom of the pile and taking the others one at a time to the booth. My plan is to try to sell the others and make my dh happy by making a little profit. Then maybe he won't notice the little doggie one left behind-LOL
 
 
 
 The last one is what I think is Cathedral Window and the round pattern is Dresden plate. Is the wandering one called Drunkard's Path? There was a piece of paper pinned to a pillowcase with that name on it. The auction folks had dumped the quilts out of their respective marked pillowcases onto a table and didn't keep them with the names. That wooden thing is padded on the other side - it's for kneeling on when scrubbing a floor - the little caster let the poor hard working housewife just scoot along as she drudges.

Wow, Sunshine! Thank you SO VERRRYY much! Do you know of any good general book I could buy that would help identify quilt patterns? I'd like to learn more about this subject.

sorry not really but there is one book called it is ok if you sit on my quilt that I bought when I was 16 years old lost it in a move but it had hundreds of blocks in it that one if still available was a good one.

Janice,
Around the Block and Around the block again, both books by Judy Martin.
It tells you how to make the blocks in different sizes and what the names of them are. Great refernce and fun to make the blocks.
You got a great deal with those and aren't they just beautiful.

Janice,
I have more than a few books that identify quilt patterns. If you send me your address privately, I'll send you one or two, whichever I come across first. Will make it much easier/nicer for you in selling them, to have the patterns named.

Janice those are all such Great Quilts aren't they??
The Scottie is just SO cute though!
We had a Scottie when the kids were growing up..My husband just LOVED this stubborn little Dog..he was like 13 or 14 when he finally died.. & my poor husband was away on business.. broke his heart..funny guy..
The dog would lay on the side walk in front of our town house in the warm sun & wouldn't get up for people.. he made them walk around him..he was so comical.. Once a man dropped his keys on the side walk & Odie walked over to them & layed down on the keys.. Wouldn't let the guy have them back.. He was late for work because he couldn't find us to make the dog give him back his keys!
There..now you have a funny Scottie Story for your Quilt they are pretty funny little Dogs.. & can be pretty tempermental too..

Thanks, Kathie. I loved your scottie story. I really want to keep that little quilt(it's a child size one) and maybe someday hang it over my old white painted iron bed at the farmhouse.
And thanks, Carol Sue for the book titles. I'm going to see if I can find them.
