The last few days have been terrible. Since Thursday, I've had pink eye. It doesn't want to go away. I'm using the prescription drops and warm compresses and it's not working. Does anyone know of a different way to get rid of this?? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks girls!

Maybe post this in the "Here's to Your Health" forum as there are some pretty knowledgeable farmgirls there that might have some suggestions. I am so sorry you are having such a terrible time of it.
Hugs & blessings,

Tammy, I don't have any brilliant advice, except to wash everything-pink eye is highly contagious and you can pass it from eye to eye (sort-of like poison oak/poison ivy...) So make sure when you're doing the eye drops you're washing your hands like crazy, and you're using towels or washclothes only once, and when I get it (I work with kids so sometimes it's an occupational hazard!) I change the pillowcases daily-anything that comes in contact with my eyes. Other than that I do what you're doing. Good luck-you have my sympathy! Audrina |

Pink eye is nasty, but fortunately there are some easy natural remedies. The quickest way to get rid of pink eye is to drop breastmilk in the eye...I know it sounds weird but the antiboties in breastmilk really wipe it out. Unfortunatly you have to be at a specific stage of life to use this remedy. Since I havent had milk in several years, I now use honey water. Just disolve some honey in clean fresh water and drop into the eye, make sure you make a new batch every time or bottle in an tincture bottle to keep it from getting contaminated. Honey is an amazing natural healer and can even be used to pack wounds. Tasha is better at explaining why these things work than I am, so if you want more info I'll leave it to her.

Also using chamomile tea works well and is very soothing. I used to make the tea as a rinse and then use the warm tea bag as a compress.
Good luck
