Tonight my husband got the pipes and all hooked up so we could have a fire in the new stove. It is in the family room where our little franklin woodstove used to be. (pictures on my blog) It worked just great and held the fire for a long time. I am going to hopefully bake some bread in it tomorrow. (depends on the weather..if it dosn't rain I will be shearing sheep) I can hardly wait to cook SOMETHING in it, or on it. I do wonder..do any of you know of a source for the little lifter dealies to lift up the "eyes" I don't have one for it. We are using a chisel thing from husband's toolbox now..and it works..but I want one of the real ones sometime. I should maybe check Lehmans??
I won't be doing all my cooking on it for sure..but sure do look forward to doing some stuff in my new cookstove during the cool months. It felt good to have a fire tonight!!

Yay Aunt Jenny! I am so happy you have your new stove! Congrats! Maybe you could warm up some nice tea or hot chocolate on the stove top!

What a great cook stove. Once you get used to the variables and bank the fire to a hot and steady glow you will be baking and cooking up a storm. Hot chocolate sounds grand. MB

Howdy Marybeth! I'm still up to! Infact, just now eating dinner! How weird is that?

Jenny I can picture it, a cold rainy day, a nice pot of soup simmering away and a lovely loaf of bread in the oven. That will smell good!

The only thing I would like to add to my apartment is a fire place or wood stove, but now that Nora is crawling, I am kind of glad I don't have one!
