Yep, sitting up in the quiet again....pain levels up and decided to hang out a bit. All the word pictures that you farmgirls give in you sharing make me feel like I am right there. For instance, you gals described so well you time yesterday with MaryJane. It was like I was sitting right there with you, enjoying a cup of tea with you and in my mind hearing all the laughter. Makes me smile even as I sit here and think about it. Funny, the things that bring me joy. It ususally ends up being the simplier things, the smile of one of my granddaughters, my dogs snoring, that makes me laugh, the wind blowing through the maple trees and dancing right off the limbs to twirl down to the earth, a ray of sunshine that lays across my shoulder and feels so wonderful, the rain pitter pattering on the roof, my frog that has lived in the fountain all summer croaking away in the evening. Taking the moments that are simple and allowing them to bring joy to our lives enriches us greatly. So in the middle of the night we can remember. Carol Sue

I'm up too. Yup, pain here too. It does seem to have a way of finding you no matter how deeply you sleep. All is quiet outside and still. Dogs snoring, cats snoring, waiting for my various pains to subside. Considering what it personally means to each one of us to be a "Farm Girl". Thinking of the can-do spirits of my sweet and feisty Grandmama and great Aunt, Katherine and Kaleta, who both lived well in to late 80s and mid 90s. a couple of madcap and hard working Texans. I miss those two and all of the mischief we had together. They'd both love this. "Shoot, you don't have to join no club to be a farm girl, but where do I sign?"
Thoughts and memories seem to crowd around like eager children at story time during these quiet night time sits. I always have liked having quiet thinking time, but I could use a bit more sleep these days. I hope that you always keep the simple joys close to your heart.
I hope you get some rest.

Thanks for your sweet thoughts, ladies! I love hearing them, but I wish you didn't have to suffer through the night! *hugs*

annika your so sweet and just happened to trigger memories from your memories of my great grandma. I miss her but know that she is in a much better place now, and would not wish her here for my own selfish reasons but the memories are always oh so sweet. We used to stay at her house when I was a child and I love those memories.
Sorry you couldnt sleep mom but can you believe that i went to bed at 11 something and actually slept all the way thru the night. Personally I dont have the pain problems that you gals have, I am just so uncomfortable when I try to go to sleep that it makes it hard and I still have several months to go. Ikes!!!
