I'm cleaning and organizing, and found some extra copies of magazines that I no longer need.
3 Isses "Back Home" magazine (backhomemagazine.com) - all about sustainable living. I write for them sometimes, and they send me extra copies, so these are duplicates of ones I am keeping. :) I have: July/Aug 2006, Sept/Oct 2003, and Nov/Dec 2003. All in good condition. Taken!
Herbs For Health Magazines, I have the following issues: Jan/Feb 2004, August 2004, June 2004, October 2004, Feb. 2005, and April 2005. All in good condition! (herbsforhealth.com has info on this magazine)
Herb Quarterly - I have 2 issues of this to barter. Fall 2004 and Fall 2005. Again, these contain articles I wrote so I got extra copies. :) (herbquarterly.com to get more info on this magazine) Traded!
And last but not least: Herb companion. I ADORE this magazine and have a collection of them dating back to 1991. It's a gorgeous magazine and I refer to them often! The ones I'm offering for barter are ones I had duplicates of, for some reason. I have: August/Sept 1992, Feb/March 1993, June/July 1993, August/Sept 1993, Dec 1998/Jan1999, August/Sept 2003, July 2004, and November 2004. Taken!
I'd love to trade. My ideal trade would be for an apron - gads, you guys are killing me with your SUPER CUTE aprons, and I just don't have the time to sew right now! (and you guys are all much more creative than i!) I could also throw in goods from my website (prairielandherbs.com) or my etsy store (botanically dyed silk scarves - girlwithasword.etsy.com) to sweeten the apron deal if need be. ;)
Anyhoo. Other things that tempt me: Fiber in most any form (spinnable, dyeable, knittable), pretty handmade jewelry, knitting needles or supplies.... tempt me. :)

Hi Maggie!
I am so excited that you've joined the forum! I love your website and get such inspiration from your business! I've had it bookmarked for a couple of years now. You have great products.
I would love to trade for the Herb Quarterlies. Tell me what you'd like to have -- obviously not soap! But I can sew you something -- another apron? Some yarn? We have some fabulous yarn shops in this area.

Hi Kay! I'm *very* glad to be here - it's a lovely forum! :) Thank you for such a lovely warm welcome! :) Oh, i'd be delighted to swap an apron for the Herb Quarterlies! If that works for you. :) I can throw in some extra goodies too- surely an apron is worth more than 2 magazines. :) send me an email if you like and we can chat about it?! :) |

Do you have any Herbs for Health magazines left? I will gladly let you have one of my aprons that was made for me. I have an article coming out in the spring of 08 in Herb Quarterly. What articles have you written? Kathy of the Enchanted Wood

The herbs for health magazines are left! (see first post). Angie, you posted first - if you want those, and have something to trade (suggestions of what I'd like are in the first post as well), please send me an email or post here as soon as possible! Otherwise Kathy is next in line for the Herbs for Health mags! :)
Sue, thanks for sending my apron - i'm SO excited!!! wheeeee!!!!!
Kathy, hi! :) I write a small article for them in every issue "Beauty in bloom" is my column. I do full length articles for them 1-2 times per year as well - past articles have included one about Fair Trade herbal products, using chocolate in bodycare products, one all about the many uses of herbal vinegars, and something else which I am not remembering right now. I just wrote on about how to start an herbal business...that will come out in the next issue...I will look for yours in Spring of '08, what did you write about?!?! :) |

Hi Maggie - My article will be about Ground Ivy - I know most consider it a pesky weed, but it has had some very interesting uses over the years and is still used today and makes an excellent spring tonic. How do you like writing - did you start as just a freelancer? The Herb Quarterly article will be the best paying yet. I like doing author interviews also and in this new issue of The Essential Herbal will be my interview with herbalist Gail Faith Edwards. I love writing about alternative health and herbal medicine, it is closest to my heart to be sure.I will have to hunt down your articles to read and your column also! Blessed be, Kathy of the Enchanted Wood

Thank you Kay! :)
Kathy, your article sounds fascinating! I love the HQ Because i really do think they have excellent articles; I consider myself honored to write for them. Yep, i started as a freelancer...still am, I just did a few articles for HQ then Abbie asked if I'd like to do an article every issue adn I jumped at the chance! I *really * like the regularity of it; I'm looking for more regular colums in other magazines. TEH is one of my other all-time favorite magazines; are you on the essential herbal yahoo list? it's great! :) |
