Hi girls! I have received three beautiful entries for our Christmas tree contest, and will try to post those on Monday. (We're fast approching the end of the month deadline on our book - MaryJane's Outpost Guidebook - and we're up to our ears on that!) But I'm sure there are more of you out there that want to enter the contest, so be sure to send me your photos in soon!!
Merry Christmas to all ... Carol

I have a question: The dpi for the two photos...how do you achieve that when you upload your pics from a digi camera into MS picture viewer (there are resize options but no dpi adjustments)? I know how do the dpi settings on the scanner...any ideas. I did choose the e-mail photo option that "shrinks" it down to a resonable size to send via e-mail (so it is not a huge file size). It also is not letting me do the requested sizes w/o it looking like a tiny dot on the screen - thanks :-)

Ok, Gabe is VERY good at teaching us how to upload photos because I never get these things on the first try! Hugs Gabe;) Rebekka Some handmade ornaments- the felt mitten is my son's hand traced, the blue ornament is needle felted and then beaded (I teach needle felting and this is from one of my classes, finally the little leaf fairy- made from a leaf dipped in beeswax with a little bead and wool added to complete the head. It was meant to be a fall ornament but she hung around long enough to find a place on the tree. An Idaho Crystal Point Ornament that I made using a bit of glue, thread and a ribbon- it is so clear that it does not photograph very well but it looks like I have icicles on the tree ;)
posted some images on my blog, but you'll probably have to look up under some of my previous posts from a few days ago, as they got bumped into the archives. also sent in 2 images for the contest.
You have only 2 days left to enter our contest! Good luck! Carol

Okay ladies! Here is our completely homemade tree! You can't see it very well in the photo, but I hand strung snowflake beads on a silver wire and also on some narrow lace. Those two things are my garland along with some hand strung pearlized beads also on wire. I made the tree topper by wrapping wire around a hand made cardboard star. I then boiled the wire-wrapped star until the cardboard was good and soggy and carefully clipped the cardboard out of the wire with scissors.
The glass ornaments were clear and I dripped paint into the inside and let it dry and I made the quilted ornaments by folding and pinning fabric onto a round styrofoam craft ball. What do you all think?

Yay! I just sent my entry to the farm. Now, seriously, noone laugh. There are many handmade ornaments, but I didn't make them--folks FAR more talented than I contributed to my lovely tree!!!
But, we love it!!!
Can't wait to see your tree, Alee!!!

Alee, your tree sounds just lovely. What a fun project ~ can't wait to see the ornaments! I had so much fun just browsing through the trees yesterday. Everyone did such a wonderful job.
i finally sent my photos in this morning. it is hard to get a good full shot, especially since it has been so cloudy here lately. i have seriously taken pictures for days with no luck. but, i finally got a half-way decent one yesterday. this contest is so much fun!
I just sent my entry this morning. I hope they are the right size, been having problems with computer and camera. Just like Amy, hard to get a good shot to of the overall tree. Oh well, it is the thought I guess.

Alee, I love the ornaments! Maybe you could give us a little class on how to make them and some close ups of some of those others. They look just gorgeous!
Okay! Mine sucks next to all of yours but it was fun being part of it!!! Hugs to all you amazing girls out there!!! And love and hugs to our goddess-guru Queen Bee Maryjane!!!
