If one can't seem to sleep, you end up with an awful lot of time thinking or reading...
I was just thinking that even though sleep hasn't come, some of you dear ladies are getting up to start your days, having that cup of coffee or tea to get your morning started, figuring out breakfast to feed the crew at home, feeding the animals and tending to all those much needed things that fill our days. Things that are ordinary but bring sweet smiles to our faces. For not one moment of our lives are wasted, each is connected with another moment and those moments make up our memories and who we are. Some sweet, some sad, some frustrating but each of them make up who we are.
I wouldn't change those moments, sometimes no matter how painful they have been because they have made up the character of who I am. As have the moments in your lives as well.
I consider it a great priviledge to be allowed to share some of those moments with you over this forum, or what I call playing at the farm. Each one is precious and adds to my life. Thank you.
Carol Sue

Enjoying life.

Morning there Carol Sue. Hope you got some sleep. I am sitting here trying to cool off. Summer has been a royal pain since she calved, at milking time. I still have the calf on her, but am thinking of changing that. On the plus side her milk went through the stainer this morning, so I finally get fresh milk. It seems like it took forever, especially when we are waiting for fresh milk. On another down side, today is butcher day for my 3 steers. One of those things. So that has been my morning. I do hope to get energized, and exercise and get things done today!!! Always plenty to do. I enjoyed reading your thoughts, and sorry, but this has been my morning so far. Hope it gets better.

Good morning from the midwest! After the beautiful rain yesterday, which was brought on by my load of laundry hanging on the line lol, it cooled off about 20 degrees. Guess I should have shut the windows on the house last night, I think the kids were a lil frozen this morning. That is the best sleeping I think, having the ambient temp really cool and piling on the blankets and quilts. The morning has been a whirlwind up until now, getting the kids up and ready for school, fixing a hot breakfast, packing lunches for the day and driving to school, only to get held up by the train. Although my 3.5 yr old does not mind one bit to get to watch the train. Now I am justifying my being on the computer as I am needing two boy scout uniforms by next week, hoping to find something used but still good instead of buying new. Oh, but I guess this is MJ's and not ebay...lol Then it's on to the laundry, fall cleaning, decluttering, try to get my sewing machine back to life and I need to paint a bedroom. Oh, I'm sure lil Mack will want to bake cookies in there somewhere. I'll have to post pics of his and my look alike aprons. Have a great day farmgals!!

Blessings....
Sarah

Morning, Carol Sue! I usually cherish those early hours of morning, when I can't sleep, even if I'm in turmoil. All is quiet in the house, save the soft breathing of the dogs. I hope you are fortunate enough to have a little peace of mind at these times, too.

This morning, I dropped my pop tart on the floor, ran my bare pinky toe into a very hard book, and couldn't fit into a certain pair of pants, but I'm determined to keep smiling--the sun is out, and the humidity is gone!

Wishing you a blessed day!

Good Morning to you all -

I sit here at my work computer, sipping my one treat of the day a latte from the coffee shop and about to jump into my day. Really I rather be at home working in the yard and playing with the kitties, but I must make a living. Everyone have a wonderful day!

Good morning, Carol Sue and all you other farmgirls! I have been up for several hours working on our Real Estate Guide, as we are at deadline again. It seems like it should be noon at least! Now I have to change hats and do the mom thing and get the kids off to school. Hope everyone has a great and productive day!

Hugs & blessings,

Brenda

Good Morning Carol Sue!

Oh I hope you got some rest! So far this morning I haven't done much, just taken care of Nora and started some laundry. I am pretty close to being caught up on the laundry so I am hoping the living room will get knocked into shape today!

I hope you all have a greta day!

Ladies, how fun to read about your mornings, and yes, I do like the peace and quiet of the middle of the night. time to think and ponder and make myself laugh at myself. Have a great rest of the day.

Hi, Carole Sue! I love my mornings. Although our feeding is in the evening (it seems even my cows aren't morning people!), we still use those few cool minutes to walk around and check out the farm and animals. I love the quiet, don't mind the wet tennis shoes from the dew, and every once in a while, I get lucky and get a big fat cow kiss! It's a blessing and a source of entertainment to watch the fowl moving around to get their breakfast. Some aren't really birds, but clowns in disguise, so I get to laugh first thing of the day. What a way to start!
