Hey Bev,
Regarding Flickr...
Personally....each member has the opportunity to open their own Flickr album to upload pictures that have everything they do in live, personally and in business. Your album allows you to set an external "link" which personally would be your blogs, websites, or etsy shop whichever place you would like to drive internet traffic. It's simply a great way to network with others so they can find us a bit easier. Having others pick up our blog, website and etsy shop links increases your visibility.
For those with strictly personal blogs...you can also benefit by meeting more folks with your common interest.
Chapter perspective,Having the fliokr group will tell about the Chapter, what's it about, where it's homebase is (Mary Jane's Farm)...The group external link is set to: www.maryjanesfarm.org so that when anyone that visits our album and likes or is interested in what they see then they can easily click on a link and come to Mary Jane's Website.
So....again, it's for more visibility, will draw interest to the Chapter concept and will ultimately help grow that idea for Mary Jane.
The other benefit is that everyone can view all of the photos that every member has uploaded that is related to a Chapter activity. Also there will be no hunting what chapter member's has done personally since every photo links to the personal albums that the members have.
So as you can see..it's about visibility, driving traffic to Mary Jane's site, our personal sites and meeting new ladies that want to become part of the growing Cyber Chapter concept.
It definitely will not take away from our Henhouse and activity here at the forum...It will bring more ladies to the forum to find out what it's all about.

The trick is to put the baby on one hip/thigh and turn away from the computer to keep those baby hands from reaching towards the keyboard and then to forget all those typing classes and punch with one finger! LOL Usually my posts when I actually am holding Nora are very short. When she was younger I would sit cross legged and hold her and type with my arms around her so it was much easier, but now she is big enough that she sits on her own and leans forward trying to type! LOL

Bev and Stephanie - The logo look terrific. Ya both did a great job! Bev - you have my vote for chapter leader. At this time, I'll pass on the blog and flickr things. :o) This is just about more than I can wrap my arms around right now. My fabric arrived and now.....to decide which apron to make.....and of course the scrapbook page. It will be done on time!

Also you will be happy to know my journal page is in the mail- for better or worse
I can log on to Flikr but have to have an invite link to join group and post pics.

Yay on the logo and, if you are up for it, yay on Bev for chapter leader. I'm running behind on everything due to the fact that I'm having dental issues and my sweetie has been very sick, so I've been doing all of our share of farm chores and trying to pull the house together for the winter. BUT! I should have my journal page done this week and winging its way to you soon...I totally blanked on what to do with it for a while.
I need a sewing machine, something non-electric, they are too scary, I will never keep up with you girls with a needle and thread. But my Apron is going to be beeUteeful, when ever I get it finished *g*

But like Julie said, the drawn image is a bit pixelated...maybe it could be rescanned at a higher dpi?

Hey Julie,
My monitor is set to 1024x768 I believe..so it's high resolution..no pixelation at this end...I've compressed the logo so it will load quickly for even dial up viewers..so that does compromise the clarity a bit opposed to uploading a large file that can slow down load time. I can change that a bit a post it tonight for you to look at and see it you see it differently from your end.
No problem there. I can get it set so that it views properly for everyone...Do you have dialup service?...it would be nice to hear from those that do so they can give feedback on the "load" time for the blog..

| My vote is yes to both Bev as leader and the logo. Had carpal tunnel surgery on my right hand yesterday, so now both hands are done and I just need to heal. So I am sort of out of commission for awhile, but can type a little bit! I finished my journal page Sunday before surgery because I knew I wouldn't be able to do it for awhile and sent it to you, Bev, this afternoon. Luckily, I can still make yoyos! It takes me a little longer and I have to rest after doing a few- I'm just glad I can do something! |
