Did I hear right? Will we be able to buy budget mix at Costco??? If so,when?? That would be awesome! I was perusing the aisles yesterday at Costco thinking how awesome it would be to pick up a bunch of budget mix!! Also on a differant note-when will Maryjane's T.V. series start? We don't have cable now- but I would break down and get cable to watch our Queen Bee every week!!!!! |

I'm back home and feeling behind with the photos I still need to take before I lose key "props" to our first frost (and a million other things I'm behind on....). But I've been sorting through the photos I took in Idaho City. Those women are the most photogenic bunch of women I've ever had the privilege of documenting. Double WOW!!!! And the stories that go along with each and every Idaho City farmgirl just blew me away. Idaho City itself blew me away. BUT I've decided to save my very best photos for a future issue of the magazine and save their incredible stories as well. I'll post a few photos once I get them sorted but WOW! I feel like I stumbled onto the lost city of Atlantis... How about Candace, their farmgirl "float" queen, who must be in her sixties???, who has raised her own children in addition to a bunch of other people's children, who is known as the town healer, the town maintenance person (getting up a 4 am most mornings), who is drop-dead gorgeous and said matter-of-factly when I asked her about harvesting her own firewood, "Oh, we ALL own chainsaws." Like, doesn't every woman own her own chainsaw? I would have loved to sit with Lisa Marie and Rose and all the rest in their clubhouse (yes, they have a much photographed [by me] clubhouse) for coffee early this morning. Sigh.
Costco. Somewhere on their website, they have our Budget Mix for sale. If they sell enough, the plan is to get our Budget Mix into their stores!!! As for TV, well it's still a work in progress. I can't seem to get the right mix of creative control, money, and helpmates. Stay tuned. I'm working on it. I'll do TV if I can find someone who doesn't need my first born first and upfront, no questions asked!
But life is good and getting better! MaryJane
P.S. Someone asked about badges. We will have a variety of our farmgirl logo badges (as well as others) for sale soon in various different colors and sizes. Janet is hard at work on it. Soon I'm told! |

We just bought these adorable little budget mix boxes and they are a bargain (less expensive than bulk at our co-op and their price is already fair;) These come with 15 or so recipes in a cute little brochure and I am thinking one would make a great little housewarming gift with an embroidered tea towel or skillet. I have been comparing the whole wheat and white in pancakes, bakeovers, biscuits, etc and my hubby- who detests whole as a rule- has been swayed! Thank you Mary Jane, I am so excited to have found a mix that he loves and that is healthy for all of us.

Jenny- I think you can only order it online at present, I have not seen them at Costco yet.... and as Alee said the boxes are tooo cute, like little houses;) If a food needs packaging it should be adorable. How is everything in Utah? I feel like I haven't touched base with you in SOOO long. Jackson is already nearing a year old and Bella is four- time is flying. Hugs, Rebekka

Isn't the budget mix purchased directly from the farm a better value? Much as I'd love to see this available to the masses, the idea of another hand dipping into the bucket as it passes is not very appealing.

For me, the Costco option is a teeny bit cheaper -- because of shipping charges. I for one would love it to be available at Costco stores in the future, so am planning to purchase online to help that become a reality.

How super that MaryJane's Budget Mix has hit Costco. I'll do my part to see it gets in the stores and on the shelves! Wow, wouldn't that be great? Headed over there to order some...I do love that Budget Mix! |
