Need parenting advice... Seems as though my 11 year old son has invaded his sisters diary.. she is 13. Appearantly he didn't like some of the things written there and took the liberty of destroying her private thoughts by ripping them from the book. Obviously, something should be done, but I am not sure what. Any ideas?
I would give him a journal to keep so he understands the importance of our private thoughts. I would also make him buy his sister a new journal of her choosing...maybe one with a real lock on it...not those chintzy fake locks....
Absolutely have him buy her a new diary. I'd also have him write her an apology note (cuz you know how they hate to write letters at that age...) and the note has to include him saying why he did what he did and that he understands why it was wrong.

I guess it would depend on your parenting style. I would make him replace the diary, and restrict his priveledges. I feel bad for your daughter. I am sure this has been very hard on her.
I agree with the others about replacing the diary with his own money. I also think that restrictions and writing the letter are good additions as well.
