My friend and I are planning a trip to Arkansas in October to go to the Old Applegate craft show and then on to War Eagle. Just wonderin' if any other farmgirls was going? Maybe meet up to visit? We will be staying in Eureka Springs but just to sleep! LOL We'll be hitting every garage sale and junk store in between.
What are the dates? I will definatly go if it isn't on the 6th. Let me know! What is Old Applegate? I am unfamiliar with it. I HATE that road between Eureka and War Eagle! I do not get car sick but that road gets me every time!!!!! Maybe it is just my husband driving!
Okay I am answering my own question! War Eagle is Oct 18 - 21. So YES I will be going. Just got to clear it with Richie first.
Lea Ann lets see if we can meet up at least for a few minutes to take a picture or something since it will probably be a whirlwind trip up and back for us. The nice thing is that Oct 18th will be PAYDAY!!!!! Maybe I can get all my Christmas shopping done!
It would be great to meet both of you Julie's at the fair. Here's the link to Ole Applegate. I have never been to this one but hey, it's on the way. It starts on the 17th then War Eagle starts the 18th.
Lea Ann I just talked to hubby and he said YES! We are thinking we might take a personal day from school on that Friday and stay in Eureka too. Do you have a hotel yet? We're gonna ask my MIL and her friend if they want to come along and make a whole weekend of it. I'm gonna try to get reservations someplace tomorrow.
You may be hard pressed to find a motel at this date. We booked ours at the first of August. Most of the motels want a small fortune for their rooms during war eagle.
We got a room Friday at the Matterhorn Inn. The place I wanted to stay had a room for me and Richie but my MIL and her friend are coming and they didn't have any rooms with two beds. The only bad thing is the Matterhorn only had rooms with double beds. My husband is 6'5 and 220 pounds! We will probably end up each having our own bed that night!
