I only have a minute but I have found out that Gigi is really short on manners but she is gentle and willing and uber smart. Her previous owner didn't know how to make her mind and said he'll never buy another horse trained by a female (??!!). Ok...

Anywho, he said you couldn't get a bit in her mouth and it took me 7 minutes of gentle persuasion and it was in her mouth. We had a discussion on how the human leads the horse, not the other way around and now she is willing to let me do the leading.

But she is sweet and I'll have more info later. Just had to BRAG!!

Good for you Winona!! I do think horses sometimes take to women better because we can be more gentle. Firm and I underline firm but gentle. bRAG ALL YOU WANT. MB

Good for you, Winona. I think the horse knew a nice person when she met one! Animals know the good people! ;)

Well, that's what you get for buying a horse that's not a Hancock bred. A Hancock horse would have opened up wide and wondered what was takin' ya so long!

JK, of course... Glad you and Gigi have come to an understanding and that you could set some boundaries for her.

Congrats, Winona! It sounds like you've got yourself a horse with a solid foundation to build upon, in the manners department!
