Hi Jo, I'm a vet. tech. and it is common for cruciate rupture dogs to seem to get better then get worse again. Alot of people put off the sx. because of this. I know the rehab seems like a lot but we do this sx. quite often and have great results (we have one sechulded for this Wed. in fact). I will keep your beautiful Bella in my prayers, I'm sure everything will go fine. Breathe deep momma and I will be praying for you too.

Hi Jo, You two girls will be in my prayers tonight for sure! Hang in there and I'm so sorry you are going through this, but sounds like it will really be worth it in the long run, no pun intended...well maybe! Just think, in a few weeks, Bella will be romping in the snow with you! Big Hugs, Lu

Jo and Bella you are both in my prayers and heart today. I know this is hard but when we love someone it is always hard to see them in pain. Just know I have my arms around you both and my Pry's are with you too. Love and Hugs

Hi Jo, Just checking up on Bella. Hope the surgery yesterday was a success. I know you were worried about it but if it wasn't a cruciate ruptue the surgeon would know when they got into the knee and could stop if there was no damage. She's young and incredibly healthy (I can see by the pics) so I'm sure she'll do great. Wish I was there to hold your hand through it all. I'm with you in spirit. Did a cruciate repair on last Fri. and sent her home doing great yesterday. I pray for the same for Bella.
Love ya,
Kelly

Thanks so much Kelly, your postings have helped the most. We took her in last night, the surgery probably just started (sigh), I couldn't sleep last night! She's such a gentle hearted little pup and she's so attached to me. I'm moving her stuff downstairs where I will sleep with her tomorrow night. I just love that little dog, we call her "small dog" all the time.

It especially helped when you said that if it wasn't a cruciate rupture they would stop, of course I know that inside, but you wonder anyway!!
Thanks again so much Kelly........ jo

Hey Jo--
Our dog Rose, has surgery this week, too, and was thinking about your Bella. She sure is lovely, and it sounds, like on the mend.

Thinking of you both!!!

Just thinking about you Jo, and your sweet Bella. Sending you hugs and prayers. Hang in there, I know you'd rather switch places with your sweet pup and it's so hard on you, but you ARE doing the best thing for her. Please give her a kiss for me. Hugs, Lu

Jo, Still thinking of you and Bella. I'm sure she's fine and enjoying those pain meds about right now. They look so cute when they're loopy. She's going to love all the extra special mommy time she'll get. Dogs bounce back much faster than people from this sx. She'll be hiking again in no time (although follow all your vets rehab instructions, I wouldn't be a good tech. if I didn't say that). Let us know how it's going.
In our prayers,
Love,
Kelly

Oh my gosh, she's home! Paul and I picked her up at 4:00 and she tromped right into the exam room, what a surprise. She has the crazy cone on and doesn't like it, she's in my sewing room with me right now and I have it off. What a wonderful little dog, I think we're going to be just fine........ thanks you guys!!

and Jonni, what kind of surgery did Rose have?? There were three chocolate labs in the office today at once, Bella was just off of surgery, Dakota was two weeks out, and the third was six weeks out jumping all over the place! One was milk chocolate, the other sweet and of course our "dark chocolate", what a crack up that was! We are so lucky to have our sweet labs......... jo
