TEA PARTY 'FAVORS' (IDEAS)

i'm soooo excited about all the little cuties i've been creating for miz sofia's first birthday tea party. thought i'd share some of these ideas in case you might want to use or adapt them for your OWN tea party for someone special. i 'blew up' this photo of sofia having her own little tea party ... typed the little poem and taped (used that GREAT double-sided tape) the photo and poem to the back of a pretty sheet of paper (you can get these heavy-stock pretty papers in BOOKS at crafts stores (targets has a great selection too!) i punched holes at the top and made a ribbon 'hanger' and big bows with streamers (just used that silky .50 cent ribbon from michaels! this picture will be on the front door to greet all sofia's guests!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

these are in 'reverse' order .. .this little photo of sofia dressed in her first 'costume' (an angel) .. i down-sized on my computer and printed a bunch of them off .. then taped them to the back of a pretty piece of card-stock. i tucked a photo in each of the little 'cones' below that i made out of that same pretty cardstock (i used el cheapo 'fancy edge scissors' to pink the tops of the cones). the cones are SO easy to make! you need: paper cutting scissors, fancy cut scissors, double sided tape, a hole puncher and pretty skinny silk ribbon and a round plate (smaller than the size of paper you are using ... your 'cone' will come out different sizes depending on the size of plate you use. (i also made 'mini-cones' and tucked 'pink tulle' in them .. then wrapped some pretty candies in 'soft green tulle' and tied the candies with a pretty ribbon and put them in the mini-cones.) you can use soft pastel plain papers and put pretty stickers on them too!
simply lay your plate down on the pretty paper. draw around it .. then ... cut your circle out with 'fancy cut scissors'. NOW .. fold your circle in HALF .. and CUT it in half (with plain scissors). you now have TWO cones! roll the half-circle into a cone .. put 'double-sided tape on the edge and press it. (making sure that there is no HOLE at the bottom of your cone. this will all be 'obvious' when you do it). punch a hole on even sides opposite each other .. thread a length of ribbon (or two color coordinating ribbons) through each hole and tie off. VOILA .. a pretty 'cone' for putting treasures into. (i also wrapped a beautiful little silk flower through each side hole and inserted one into the bottom. (you will have an EMPTY cone when you do this .. sooo .. jus' reach down into the cone and 'coil the stem so it won't fall out of the bottom). NOW .. cut a pretty circle of 'tulle' and tuck it into the cone .. and put a pretty little something wrapped in tulle and tied with ribbon into the cone. (i found ADORABLE little 'tooth fairy' ceramic boxes at the PLAID PEACOCK in Greensburg for only THREE DOLLARS EACH!!! .. and tucked those into the cones). you can put cookies, candies or any other little trinket into these!

i made four of these .. one for each 'little guest'. there will be 2 ONE year olds and 2 TWO year olds at the 'children's tea table'. sofia got a beautiful little pink table and chairs from her other grammie .. i will hang these little cones from the back of each chair.
===========================

this one is sooooooo EASY and cheap to make! i went to the DOLLAR TREE .. and bought a package of TWELVE little 'white' baskets' .. you have to put them together (soooooo easy!) .. then i wrapped some candies in 'tulle' and tied them with a silk ribbon. inserted a paper 'doily' in each little 'bag' .. and put the candies in. oh .. i also got these adorable little 'angel fairie 'stickers' at the same dollar store!!! how cute and easy is this!!! (i made a dozen of these .. will put one at each child's 'setting' on the table and the rest on the 'big' tea table!
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

remember me telling you how i LOVE the candies and gifts at CRACKER BARREL!!! i got these little 'sugar stick candies' for fifty cents each there ... just snipped a tiny hole in the middle of a small paper doily .. and a circle of tulle .. put the stick through the hole (by the way .. an easy way to make this 'hole' is to simply fold the doily in half and in half again (quarters) and snip the bottom .. not toooo far too big .. cuz' it comes out bigger than you think! (jus' practice!) then i took pink and green ribbons and pinched the doily and tulle together and wrapped the ribbon around the bottom a coupla' times and tied a bow with streamers! VOILA .. pretty candy made even prettier with a pretty little 'bits and pieces'!

these candies come in pretty soft pastels .. i got pink, green, peach and lavendar.

===============================

TUSSIE MUSSIE (NOSEGAYS) for each of the grandmothers and GREAT GRANDMOTHERS ... i made these as another little 'momento' celebrating sofia's first year of life .. something the 'grandes' can keep forever! soooo easy to make .. jus' visit your crafts store or even 'wally-world' .. anywhere you can find sweet little silk flowers. choose ONE central flower .. and a 'spray' of coordinating smaller flowers .. bunch them together .. with your 'main' flower in the middle surrounded by the 'spray'. i simply cut tulle about 6 inches wide .. bunched it around the flowers (didn't even do any sewing!) .. and tied them firmly with pretty silk ribbon.

quick - easy - sweet - beautiful!

four tussie mussies .. one great gramma margaret .. one for great gramma mary .. one for gramma emma and one for gramma 'marlene' (i made one for ME too
==================================

surely not to be forgotten .. i also made 'mini' tussie mussies for the four 'little girls' .. i chose sweet little pink baby ruses, white baby's breath and pink and green tulle and a sweet doily and pink and green ribbon. (make it the same way as the 'grammie' tussies above! (i will put these at 'plate side' for each of the little girls on their tea table.)

well gurlfrenz .. i hope you've enjoyed these .. and i hope you will make some too! if you have any questions about anything that i didn't 'splain clearly .. jus' e-mail me. xoxo, frannie
p.s. LOTS more ideas and photos coming soon!

Really good ideas Frannie, going to try some. You have been one busy girl. Going to try the cone thing first.

so much is the 'icing' on the cake. even the least expensive things can be so special when we 'fussy' them up a little.
