I am looking for someone near Tacoma Washington! I am a farm girl at heart and am homeschooled. I am 13. I am wanting to find some baby chicks or eggs to hatch and start my own very small flock of chickens. Any ideas? I am new to this web site. SusieQ |

Hi Susie..I don't live in Tacoma, but real near by, and my kids live in Tacoma. You have to be careful and check if you can have chickens where you live, there are some silly city rules about that. If you don't get a rooster you might be okay..they just crow all day long and drive city people crazy! Welcome little country at heart girl! Diane & Holly |

I live north of you and I think you should avoid the rooster too, but you can order chicks, and eggs to hatch from dunlap hatchery, look them up on the web. We have got some out of oregon, but are like how hardy our chicks from dunlap are! It is fun to hatch your own though. If someone is selling eggs from their farm, you can ask them to save you some and they are most likely glad to. |
