Hello friends! It's been a while since I have been here to chat. I am working on a scrapbook cookbook for my DD and I want to make her an apron as well. Does anyone have a cute apron pattern for a child? Thanks.

I recently saw a really cute idea for a child's apron, unfortunatly I don't have a picture to post, but as best as I can describe it:

Cut out the seat of an old pair of your girl's jeans (my girls have about 4 pairs each with un-repairable holes in the knees!). This is the main "apron" part, and it has pockets already! Sew a gathered ruffle of whatever fabric you choose along the outside edge, about 3 inches wide. Thread another stretch of the fabric through the belt loops and secure it on the sides of the "seat", leaving the ends to be the ties.

I can't wait to have time to start this project for my girls-- now I have something to do with those old jeans that's THEIR size!

I make an apron fior my kids that I came up with on my own...it has several variations on a theme...here are some pics...it can be infant size to 10/12...i can send you the pattern if you want...jess I have made them with this flat straight bottom hem, or scalloped, or rouonded...and the pockets can be all kinds of fun shapes!!!

Angi, I've got 3 Simplicity patterns that are really cute. the numbers are: 3802 (has 5 different styles that are just too, too precious); 3949 which is a matching mother/daughter style; and 4692 that is another mother/daughter apron.

Good hunting.

Jessica, I'd like a copy of your pattern if it's possible. My daughters and son are always fighting over the one they have.

Oh Jess, I want your child's apron pattern, pretty please I just love these that wrap around to the back kinda sorta like the adult pattern you are sending to me.

BrewCrew, I like the idea of using the seat of the old blue jeans..that sounds real cute!

Txfarmgal, SheilaC and BrewCrew....Nice to meet y'all!!

Hey Jess,

I'd like a size that could work for a 2-3-4 year old. Thanks so much!

Jessica, That is one wonderful pattern. I would love a copy for my granddaughters. We made some a while ago ( see them on my blog) but now they want to make more and a different pattern would be great. Thank so much
