The last couple nights Nora has been very clingy when she is tired. I have had to break out the snugli packs again and nurse her in them until she goes to sleep. I guess she must be going through another growth spurt... She is getting so big! I was in Michaels today and saw another mom with what I thought was another 5 month old...nope...her baby is 10 months old and he and Nora are the same size!! She is 5 months old, but wears 6-9 month clothes for the most part. She is big and healthy and I am so happy for it.
It would be so funny if Nora recieved the recessive (for our family) gene that would make her be tall like my uncle. I am 5 foot even and it would just crack me up if my daughter turns into a some Amazon woman!! :)

It's fun to guess what they might turn out to be like when they are so new, though, isn't it? No one ever really knows. A baby at her age who looks like she could be a giant could turn out to be the smallest in the family... or the other way around.

All of mine have had the opposite problem-- looking much smaller/ younger then they are! My husband is always teasing-- "Feed that baby! I want to see a Chunky Monkey!".
Clingy stages are hard, I know. I have to admit, they get WAY easier the more kids you have, though! I noticed each time (kid) that the stages were shorter and fewer. Maybe all the other distractions (siblings) around helps them? My house is usually chaos so there's plenty to look at/ explore and it takes a while to realize that Mommy's not near by! When they do realize, though, they let me know they'd like to have my attention RIGHT NOW! :)
The pics of Nora you have posted are darling. Sounds like you are a super mommy! Congrats on your success. :) It's a hard job.

it could be, Alee, the difference between a BF babe and a FF babe-if that other babe was FF.
Have you tried any kind of soft form carrier, like a Mei Tai or SPOC of sling? Snuglis are okay, but they can actually jar a baby's back in a wrong way.

Yeah I notice Lela also goes through those stages. I do wonder though, I have the opposite growth problem with Lela and all she recieves is breast milk. lol Funny, I see other BF and ask how old they are thinking they are the same age and they are like 2 and 3 months old. Lela is 11 months now and if it is shorts (like a shorts onesy) or onseys etc she still wears a 0-3 and sometimes a 3-6 months, she only wears a 6-9 months in long pants with feet just because of hieght but not because of roundness. So PJs need to be 6-9 but that's it. People always think she is younger too. She's 13 lbs. But, I can say makes it easy to cart her around during the clingy times! lol |

Nora gets all her nutrition from breastfeeding, even though we are slowly introducing her to new tastes and textures.
We have tried slings and she _hates_ them. She cries like she is scared. I don't think she feels very secure.
She is doing better, but is still very clingy. I don't mind too much as long as she lets me get some sleep. :)

Alee, My four month old breast fed baby boy is in 9-12 month clothing right now. He goes through clothes so fast, he barely has time to wear each outfit once before it goes into storage! He is at the stage right now where he would rather flirt and play with momma and daddy than do just about anything else, besides eat! |

Don't you just love that delighted squeal they have when they see you? It is so fun to be their world right now :)

oh chile .. i ADORE the 'clingy' stage .. but then i'm a 'grammie and .. i don't have to get up early in the morning and go to work .. or have full-time responsibility for them. but we grammies love having them cling to us like little monkeys!
if you have the time and energy .. jus' let her CLING .. these years pass so fast .. sooner than you can ever imagine .. that little one will be a 'teenager' and running with friends .. oh lordy! you will miss that clinging!
we think sofia is going to be TALL too .. and SKINNY ... both her parents are 'rails' .. frank is tall .. wednesday is not. sofia is in the 75 percentile for height and 25 percentile for weight. but she looks wonderfully full and healthy to me. and lordy .. i doooooooooooo love those clingy hugs! (now .. if they are also CRYING .. that can surely be upsetting to both them and you).
