I started knitting lace.

I have found many different ways to do a yarn over. One I bring the yarn around the needles, the other I wrap it around and make a stitch. When I wrap I make a noticable hole, when I do the other way the hole is very small. Which way is best? Is there a difference in yarn over when doing eyelet lace and other lace knitting? I'm confused, can some help me? I appreicate any help I can get. Thanks.

Which way is best?? Well, here's my definitive answer - either way! It just depends on the look you're going for. More wraps will give you bigger holes because it's leaving you more yarn to drop into the hole. Fewer (or no) wraps, just a plain yarn over will give you a smaller hole, but lace before and after blocking are 2 different animals. After blocking, you may find that your plain old yarn over will give you a hole that you're very pleased with.

I really don't know if there is a difference between eyelet lace and other lace knitting. Maybe someone else has some ideas. Good luck with the lace--I love knitting it!

I wish I knew how to knit better I can do washcloths and scarfs and hats but honestly I don't think I could tell you if I knitting or pearling. I do know stockinette stitch but that I think is as far as it goes.

have a lovely day and may God bless you and keep you safe
