Hi everyone, my name is Joan and I live in Cave City, Kentucky on a 28 acre farm with 29 animals and 4 humans. We have Alpacas, fainting goats, dogs, horses, and cats. We garden, starting to grow lavender, blueberries and many other projects. It is nice to see a place we can share infomation.
Keep cool and as my Alpacas say keep humming! Joan

Welcome, Joan
I grew up on a rice farm with Quater horses and cattle. At 18 I left and have never returned. After my Father's death we sold everything but the acreage. However, you can take the girl out of the country but you can't take the country out of the girl. That is one reason this site has been special.
We have several forums and each one that I have visited is filled with information, friendly replies, and encouragemnt. I am a new herb gardener and love to read post from the garden gate. I am in zone 9 and would love to grow lavendar, but others down here have not had luck because of the heat. I am going to give it a shot and see what happens.
Welcome!

Welcome to the group Joan! When I lived in Indiana we had fainting goats! They really fascinated me. One day, G-d willing, when we have a farm, I would also love to grow fields of lavender. As it is I had seven plants of different varieties , but unfortunately I lost three. Not sure what I did wrong? Blessings,
