I got my Summer 2007 copy of Cotton Friend. I am totally in love. This mag was a bit pricey, but it is huge, with great pictures printed on beautiful paper. They have yoyo projects, repurposed clothing projects, recycled lace projects, a cute french box pull out to build, aprons & full sized patterns. The pictures are beautiful and totally inspirational. There is even a page where you can order past issues. Oh how I wish I could read Japanese. Oh how I wish I could order in Japanese. There is such an old Americana flair to all of the projects, but oh so sophicated.

If you get a chance at least flip through a copy!

Elizabeth -- Where did you get your copy of the magazine? I'd love to see one...have 'seen' them only on blogs.

Check out these gems

Oh I need to start saving and making more money. But it has been a very long time that I have been inspired from a mag or book in such a long time. But both Paris Aprons and Cotton Friends are worth their hefty price tag even if I cant even read them... the number of patterns included make it worth it alone.

Elizabeth,
My mother, through her ham radio, was friends with several ladies in Japan and one is a well known quilter there. She gave mother a small wall quilt she'd made with 100 yr old fabric and I have it now. If I send you her address, maybe you can contact her for any info. My request when mother went there was a quilting magazine and she brought me several. The quality of their work is just amazing. Some of them came to visit her too. I have the kimono they gave her and a photo of her wearing it, rather special. I may have to get that magazine. Too bad the Japanese and Aussie magazines are usually so pricey to buy here.

Hey Elizabeth,

I like the looks of the Paris Aprons Book..does it have a pattern pack with it or are there graphed layout to size up or what? I'm assuming this is a book or is it a magazine publication? Really nice, I want one

Talk to ya later, Stephanie

Looks like a great magazine but how do
you figure it out if it's written in japanese?

I have several of these magazine...they are addictive! Anywho...if you sew at all, you can follow the picture directions. I have made several things from the ones I have with no problems. Such wonderful ideas in them.

I want to buy one, too, but how do you read the assembly instructions? If you don't know how to assemble things, it's not much use to you. I know how to do aprons, but that's not all I want to do. Thanks for bringing these magazines to us!

Farmgirl hug,
Patricia
