HA! remember years ago when 'ducks' and 'cows' and 'pigs' were all the rage to collect? then a coupla' years later, everyone was making BEES!!!

well, i got tired of all these 'cute critters' and started a fun 'PEST' swap .. let's try it again!

i 'writ' up a poem .. don't remember zackly how it went .. but sumpthin' like this:

COWS and DUCKS and PIGS and BEES
i'm really getting tired of these!

CHIGGERS and FLIES
MOSQUITOS and GNATS
is for me where it's at!

BEETLES and GRASSHOPPERS
MOLES AND MICE
i think for a change
would be really nice!

o.k. o.k. .. 'nuff of the attempt at poetry!

if you would like to be in a PEST SWAP (value about five dollars!)
jus' let me know .. and choose your 'vermin' that you will be 'making' or even 'buying' .. or trapping!! (o.k. .. no LIVE critters!) should be a 'hoot' if we put on our thinking cap and consider all the pest and pestilance that surrounds our farms!

How funny. I bought the cutest little handmade mouse from a lady. She stuffed it with her home-grown catnip. It was so darling, I didn't give it to the cat. She used tweed and leather, had a whole herd/swarm...what do you call a grouping of mice?...posed on a paper mache cheese.

I'll try and duplicate the pattern...she was at a swap meet, so I don't even know how to get in touch with her for more mice, and I won't part with this one (how funny). I might have some homely mice to swap...:) Hers are just too cute, don't think I'm that good at it.

Ack! I had to search the house for my fabric mouse...yes, the real ones are just too icky! The cat was just too intrigued and played with it. I better get a pattern going before she tears this one all apart. I'll e-mail you. :)

Speaking of mice, I have some mice from France that my grandmother left me... They are fabric mice and fully dressed in the most amazing little outfits - a nanny and baby, a bride and groom, a little baby girl mouse... so cute! The biggest one is the nanny and she is only a couple of inches tall. Never could find out anything about them but they are superbly made and very old. I'd love to try making some if someone wants to trade little mice...

I also have some spider and ant stamps if someone wants bug stationery. I can make some cute little notecards to trade...

Just wanted to see what's up with this swap? Are we still doing it? I'm about halfway done with some ant notecards if someone wants to swap with me. (Michelle?) I can also make some spiders too if someone is interested.

I did some sheep ones for another swap and they are similar in style to the ant ones. They turned out awesome, so I think you'll be pleased with these.

Hi everyone! I just sent email to Frannie...is this swap still going on? I have made big spiders out of crochet with a seperate web....
I hang them up for Halloween or wear them :-)
spider is about 2 ft accross and web close to 5 ft accross.....I saw them just the other day...since I am moving...:-)
can I send them in for the swap?

I've been bad. Haven't done a thing with the mice. I'd better pull out of this one until I have something to trade. If I get in gear and get some mice sewn up, I'll certainly let you know.
