Hello to all. I found this site called Pioneerthinking.com when looking for a Milk Paint formula. Thought WOW!!!! Another site for us who are looking for ways and ideas to the simple life. I went to the chat board and I found it for lack of a better way to say it weird!!! Has anyone else been to that site? Am I just out to lunch with my uncomfortableness with the content and sign in names. Just wondering if I'm really to conservative.

Not my cup of tea either. I think we are lucky to have such a nice group of women here on MJF!

Pioneer does have multiple meanings...this one being, innovators, forward thinking, etc....not, cook up a kettle of laundry.

There seems to be a vast array of things being marketed under the same umbrellas of "organic", "diy", and "simpler life"... and apparently "pioneer". I guess everyone is yearning for something outside of the urban/hightech/highspeed lifestyle. Some of us want to get our hands dirty in the process, some have a more new-agey outlook.

I live next to an "optimal wellness center" which I'm pretty sure caters to the same demographic as that pioneerthinking.com, and although I have some unpleasant thoughts about their clientelle (leaving their dogs in their SUV's to roast while they get their "well" on), I'm pretty sure they are trying to fix the same hole-in-the-soul that a lot of urbanites have from this hectic modern lifestyle.

My question for those who are already living the rural/farm lifestyle that I long for is: Does it really feel less hectic out there? Or are the pressures just different ones? Obviously everyone here has figured out how to incorporate technology into your lifestyle or you couldn't post, do you feel that helps?

Not going there - And you can call that my brand of pioneer thinking. If it stinks, it is probably bad for you.
