Our own Farmgirl Ronna emailed this to me, no sure which was the best forum to put this under. So please read as it might affect you and she is mentioning several products:

Hasbro's recall of EasyBake Ovens does NOT include those with lightbulbs..the kind that have been sold for years. The one they brought out before Christmas is the affected item and has essentially been off the shelves since February. Consumers who have one can contact Easy Bake at 800-601-8418 or easybake.com for details on returns. They will send you a voucher for $32 to be used on any Hasbro products.
CVS pharmacy stores, in cooperation with the CPSC, has issued a voluntary of the Playskool toddler "no spill" sippy cups. Young children can chew through the plastic spout, which can pose a chocking hazard. They were sold at CVS from Sept 06 until April 07 for about $5. If you have any, return them to CVS for a full refund.
I work for Hasbro-if anyone has questions please contact the company or you can email me if you'd like and I'll try to be helpful.
The Thomas recall was originally attributed to Hasbro, but is not one of our products.

Okay..what are they using instead of the light bulb for easy bake ovens now??????? Why fix something that isn't broken. I made many a small cake in mine a lot of years ago.

Aunt Jenny...I think you're right, they fixed something that wasn't broke and it's been a huge headache for the company. The new (recalled) ovens had a slide in tray kinda like a pizza oven. A few kids stuck their hand or fingers in and got burned. My guess is no adult supervision, despite instructions and warnings. Walmart had the lightbulb EasyBakes for $10 on black Friday last November and sold a crazillion of them.
My daughter had Suzy Homemaker when she was young and has bought a whole kitchen of their stuff on eBay..for a lot more than they cost new in the 60's.
Seems there are way too many recalls for baby/kids stuff. I think the companies are being over cautious on some, but it makes one wonder what is safe for the kids anymore.

You know what...I think mine may have been a Suzy Homemaker too...I am not sure..just know that all the girls I know had one. My own daughters had Easy Bakes for sure...WITH the lightbulbs. My grand daughter is now almost old enough for one..hmmmm

They replaced the lightbulb with an electrical "grill plate"...
They had a huge story about this yesterday on NPR as I was driving home from work. Hasbro blames it on China....

Ok, I'm going to preface my next few statements with this: I AM NOT a conspiracy theorist, I just simply think American relies WAY too much on foreign trade....One might think that China might be trying to maim or even kill americans, what with all of the "tainted" products our silly country buys from them. Actually, there is a story--Slapstick? by Kurt Vonnegut that kindof mimics my thought processes...wherein someone in China figures out a way to miniaturize their population, they infiltrate the US as microscopic beings and the people in the US inhale them and expire....Thank you for my hysteria, Mr. Vonnegut!

OOOOH Kurt Vonnegut was a favorite of mine. Him and Douglas Adams. I keep thinking of the poor dolphins that left Earth, everytime I hear about the honeybees (sorry for the off-topic post, but the neural networks are firing...)

Brenda-

That made me smile! Can't you just imagine it? Someone seeing all these honeybees in space?
