Maryjane Lee sent me a beautiful hand made dolie, I just love it. I posted a picture. THANKYOU THANKYOU!! JUST so nice of you Maryjane. NANCY JO PS. HOW DO YOUR SPELL DOLIE?
My grandmother was a widown in the late 1930's and early 1940s and made doilies to sell to make ends meet. She had 5 children and lived on $40 social security, grew her own food, raised chicks, and made doilies. She also bought a house and fixed it up during that time. My mother was very sick but all her other children went to college. She is an amazing strong women of 93 and I love her to death. So doiles are special to me because and that one is very pretty.
Oooohh...very nice work Mary Jane. Sometimes I am sad that I do not crotche and tat. My mother did and her mother did. I do not thus can not pass this on to my daughter (I have no sisters). Below is some of the work my Grandma Callaghan did. Check out the funky metallic she must have done those in the 70's??
