I have just done a laser hair removal treatment at a local skin care place. I have these ingrown hairs on my chin. They hurt and they get irritated. They came in while I was pregnant with my fourth child. I am a good candidate for the laser treatment because I'm pale complected and I have dark hair.

I was curious if anyone else has ever had this done and what the cost was. I have to go back for about 4 treatments probably and it's about $100 a treatment. I am willing to pay it though because these hag hairs are painful and drive me crazy.

Hello,
Have done lots of laser hair removal. LOVE IT!!!!!! Would love to do my legs some day. Guess it is my alternative to tattoos. Never have to worry about sagging ink blots in old age and cost about the same. Here is to being hairless.

That's hilarious Betty Jo!

I enjoyed it too! It was way cooler than I expected. I want to have other areas done too. I wish it could be done on eyebrows, but it can't. I think for my birthday and Christmas I just want gift certificates to the hair removal place!! : )

Never thought to ask for gift certificates. I always ask for massage certificates. Thanks for the idea.

I have talked about this with my husband and he is fine with me doing this when we have a little more money. Ihave never talked to someone who has had it done please tell me all you know about it. I was thinking of legs, under arms and bikini lines as I am a bleeder and shaving gives me little nicks that take weeks and weeks to heal and I can't stand that. what makes a good or bad canidate. Thanks for any and all info sunshine

have a lovely day and may God bless you and keep you safe

I don't know how old you are sunshine, but when I went through menopause, my underarm hair just disappeared, never to return - so you might want to wait on that one!

This is all that I know so far. The lighter skinned you are and the darker hair you have the better a candidate you make because you have more contrast between light and dark and the laser zaps it better. I think. I'm no expert, but that is what I understood.

Even if you have darker hair, it can still be done, but it might take more treatments, you might burn more, scar possibly, etc.

I am already feeling relief. I'm so glad that I had it done. It really took care of my ingrown hairs. I think I would like to try it on my underarms eventually, when my ship comes in. $$$

I had one "test" treatment, the hair disappeared after one treatment and never came back. So went back for 4 more treatments, and the hair all grew back. (The first time she told me the hair had to be long, afterwards she said it didn't matter- but I think it does)

About that time, the doctor's office I was going to decided to eliminate the machine (it evidently wasn't paying for itself) so even though the technician had promised me a few more free treatments to finish up, I never got them. So, still hairy! I spent about $900, this was about 10 years ago. I asked for my money back and they laughed. I am fair-skinned and brunette. And I am still mad at them.

So just make sure the place has been doing it for a long time before you commit.

You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands - You shall be happy and it shall be well with you. -Psalm 128.2

hmmm. What kind of hair did you have lasered? And what time of your life? I think I'll be okay, because I'm done having babies. Hopefully I will see good results. I will ask them the questions you have brought up.
