I lived in McCall about 20 years ago for about a year and 1/2..it is beautiful there!! If you are into skiing...perfect place..world class ski resort and another small one to take the family too. I know it has built up and is alot more expensive than when I lived there so many years ago..it is a nice place to live!!! I would live there again in a hot second if anyone could pry me away from this old house..haha.
Hi Dona, McCall is a beautiful place with Payette Lake and Brundage Ski resort (this is the smaller of the two) and Tamarack Ski Resort which is already a world class destination. I love McCall. There is a huge Winter Carnival with Ice Sculptures. I have spent alot of time there because my son competes (he is a freestyle skier) at Tamarack and he would love to live there also. Just google McCall Idaho and you will find pictures of its incredible beauty. Unfortunately, with the coming of Tamarack Ski Resort property values went off the charts. I work for the court in Idaho City and one of our backup Judges is from Valley county (where McCall is located) so we talk to the clerks there quite often. I have also looked at property there and if you really look around you can still find something affordable but there are not many rentals as Tamarack is still in the building phase and will be for years to come, so there are many, many construction crews who have taken up most of the rental property. Tamarack has lots of job offers you can find on their website if you are looking, they would be a great place to work. You are a very lucky woman to get the chance to live there. Lots and lots of snow each year.
We are never alone in the forest of Sisters! We "Mountain Farmgirls" are outstanding in our field!
Jenny, I don't get there as often as I'd like anymore. It's changed SOOOOO much! My Grandparents were really poor and built a log house on the river (they even said it was the "poor" side of the river) they would sure be shocked if they knew how much their piece of property was worth now!!!
I actually hate it that you can hardly see the lake anymore for houses etc. Progress I guess!
