I always thought it was funny when dogs howled. I even tried to get Sky to howl when she was a puppy- but she just looked at my like I was crazy. I wonder if certain breeds are more inclinded to howling than others? Sky is part Husky so I thought she might do it.

I can get Spot The Dog howling whenever I want to. Spot is the *most* talking dog I have ever met. We nicknamed her "Mona The Wolf" because we can get her to moan and howl on demand. It's so much fun, but it probably has our house marked as "...just plain weirdos living there..."!!! ~ Kaylyn

Oh how I looooove howling dogs! My husky, Lily, would purse those lips in a perfect little "O" and just go to town! She howled, and she talked and talked. Especially if she was "sassin'" me. Our little Beagle, Daisy Bad Seed is quite the singer...she and dh have "opera" night each night on the sofa. She is a soprano!!!!

My brothers once got the wolf pack at the zoo to howl. They stood there howling outside the cage until the wolves all came out of their den and joined in. It was amazing, and the only time I've ever heard wolves howl in real life.
We have several dogs on our block now who join in with every fire engine that goes by. I hope they're enjoying themselves, but they sound awfully sad. |

I love it when they howl, my little Mightymouse (chiwawa)he "sings" when we sing, 'specially JingleBells. Then there is OlRed(hound)he howls at everything, it is beautiful. So they have howling competitions with each other I love it!!

I'm jealous! I want 'singing'. My troops only bark...and bark...and bark. At squirrels. And birds. And the mailman. And anyone walking by.....drat!

Janice mine certainly do their share of barking! There is usually barking mixed in with the howling too. Hagrid is very vocal and I can get him to talk and he will mimic the sounds you make so you can make it sound like he is saying words. It is really funny.
