I have been thinking alot about my life (and posting it ALL here..lol) and there are some positive changes I am going to ACTIVELY make. Just thought I would share ( and if ya'll have any, please post)
my ideas to live life with more intention:
1. Be nice and try to compliment people. It might be something like "oh that is a nice color on you or nice jewelry", or writing a note to someone just because (on pretty paper of course). I like how I feel when I let other's know how much I care and truly feel.

2. Going back to school and putting DS in daycare is going to be tough but to be positive, I look at everything I do now influences him down the road. I am making it a priority to clear out weekends completely for family time and lot of fun time.

3. Be more footloose and fancy free. The laundry, cleaning, perfectionism can wait. I want to have fun.

4. Wear only comfy, cheery clothes and shoes. I know this sounds strange, but I just feel better.

5. Surround my home in things that exhibit love, safety, home, peace and family. All the rest can go- donating makes me feel like I am somehow helping out.

6. Make 5 new friends this year. People I can count on in a pinch, for a good laugh or just when I need a hug.

Cheers,

Heather

Dear Heather,
Go for it and don't forget to look in the mirror each day and say: I am a woman of worth. I am a beautiful woman. I am strong.

Do this exercise at least once a day.

And you are right, changing our outer appearance is important. Many say, the outside doesn't matter, but we can get so wrapped up in what we look like on the outside....I'm talking frumping and convincing ourselves that the inside is the only thing that matters, that the outside suffers and then affects our insides. So you make your outside as beautiful and comfortable as you can and it will nurture that inside!!!

Look at Mary Jane. She could hoe the garden in dirty bibs and her hair all mussed up, but no, she ties on a pretty apron, because it makes her feel better and that garden gets hoed all the same and she looks good in the process!! LOL........Go girl!!

I'm right there with you!! I'm changing my outside and the inside is loving it!!! Go against the grain....the outside does matter!!!

Count me as one of your friends too!! Remember every thing you do to nurture you, only makes you richer of heart and enables you to give from that fuller heart. Wanting to change to become the best you can be is not selfish. You go girl!!!

What you said about MJ looking good hoeing her garden in an apron reminded me of my MIL,Zelda. I have been married to her son for 34 years and I have yet to see her look frumpy. If she is raking her yard or hosing off her porch, digging in her flower bed, she never looks flustered or frumpy. She looks good all the time. She doesn't wear alot of makeup but her hair is always styled so nice, powder on her face, lipstick, earrings. She is always so neat looking. I have always been proud of her. Where ever she went or whatever she was doing she always looked so perfect and has excellent taste in clothes and acessories. I have had more comments about how lovely she looks than I can remember through the years. She is not flashy at all, just has a classic style that I have tried to emulate. My two adult daughters have told me more than once how their grandmother can be polishing furniture and never break a sweat or look untidy. I have learned alot from this wonderful women.
