Hello all! I am educated as a photographer, I'm a mother of two (girl, 13 boy, 10). My brand new husband and I (we were married July 9th!) are working on moving to a small property in a very small town in Michigan. Of course, while I am getting really excited about having property, I am still holding my breath (it's not a done deal until the title is in our names, right?) and trying to be practical with my heart.

We initially wanted the property just to have a horse or two and a few goats, but we have both been so inspired by Mary Jane's book that we are expanding and diversifying our ideas about what we want to do with the property (when it is ours of course). There is at least one fruit tree (pear) that needs attending to, the biggest mulberry tree I've ever seen to attract lots of birds, black walnut trees, and lots of open, grassy land that needs to be fenced for animals. And of course, the house needs work, barn needs work, everything needs work. Lots to do before it will be what we want it to be. It will be a slow climb to anything near self sufficiency but the property will be a dream come true for both of us and a labor of love.

Welcome, welcome to you!
Sounds like you have a wonderfully busy new life, how fun!
MaryJane's book is so inspiring, isn't it? Can't wait for the workbooks.
I hope you enjoy it here as much as I am, I am sure you will find lots of help here for your new undertakings.
All the best!
