I'm in OH right now and just happened to look at the highway sign and found that only 7 miles away, that's where my cyber friend lives!! So I called her (we are on a horse board and had swapped phone numbers and her hubby is a trucker also) but she had ordered pizza so I thought perhaps another time. We go thru here all the time anyway.
So after we ate in the restaurant, my cell rang and it was my friend. She asked if I'd still like to meet (it's 3 hrs earlier for me but late for her). I said sure! She came up to the truck stop and THEN...she took me to her barn and I got to meet her mare and 2 week old colt!!
Her mare didn't appreciate me in the stall at first and I was very careful to stay near the stall door. The colt just plowed right in and cute as a button. Then she showed me the entire barn (it's a borading barn) and it's a fab place. The show part is incredible, not to mention the horses.
Anyway, the thing that struck me as strange was it wasn't that expensive to board there, only $250 a month. But it was great and clean and had a nice indoor.
We were supposed to meet again but my biz called and I had to take care of something so we didn't lose the load so we couldn't meet. But hopefully, there will be next time!!
Got to meet a cyber horse friend in person...
