So ladies who do you like? I consider myself a conservative democrat, but I have really liked some local republican politicians so maybe I'm actually a liberal republican? In any case according to polls/press it seems Hilary is getting the go from the majority of "low income" women. I'd like a woman in the whitehouse! Though I am so disappointed in our current leadership...sometimes I don't know what I think or want! I like a few other candidates but don't want to support anyone who doesn't even have a chance of getting on the ballot!

I don't talk about politics to much - but my choice right now is John Edwards. Was my choice the first time around when he was Kerry's running mate and now my first choice again. I am a republican - but a liberal republican that votes on who I like, whether it is a republican, democrate or independant. Just looking for the best person to do the job.

I really like John Edwards too! I just don't think he stands a chance. Don't know too much about Ron Paul...but it's time to really start learning about all the candidates

I am so depressed about the upcoming presidential elections. I really can't imagine any of the candidates as president.

I'm with you, Anne. John Edwards for me, too. I had really wished that it was Edwards/Kerry back then. I realize there is a war going on, and there are many fires to put out overseas, but what about on the homefront? There are also many "wars" in our country. Poverty and healthcare to start. John Edwards embodies much of what I feel and think on daily. I also trust in his committment to his family and his obvious compassion and love for his wife.

I don't talk politics much either, but my vote is going for: Dr. RON PAUL! He is the only candidate who has it all.

I saw Ron Paul on The Daily Show last week, and I'd never heard of him. But I liked what he said. Also, I like Gore, even though he isn't running (yet). I liked Gore the first time around, and I think his message has only gotten better.

*steps lightly into thread*

Well, I'd love to see Dennis Kucinich (http://kucinich.us/) but I'm a realist and know it won't happen. Which leaves me with not much to choose from that truly isn't the "same old, same old," imo, no matter which side of the fence you're on. *sigh*

I saw a shirt I am getting for the girls each: "My Mama's for Obama"

He seems to have the same drive and spark that Kennedy had, not that I was alive then, but I am a political weirdo.

I certainly need to go do more research on this. I am a weirdo in that I really enjoy talking about politics (and religion, too)
Thanks for the link to Ron Paul...I also had no idea he was running...looks interesting.

I would have to go with Kucinich, just because he buys my soap.

What a great claim that would be.... Official White house soap.... washing all the dirty hands (or insert better body part) of politics...

Elizabeth what a hoot! Can you imagine your advertising! soap fit for a president. Serious thank you girls for all your replies...I am just as confused as before...I really like lots of the individual traits of the various candidates but none really as a whole. I think would be happy with a blend of Hilary, Obama and John Edwards...my morphed president would remain female of course! Also read a bit about Ron Paul and like some of what he has to say....boy this is tough. I do not have a TV either so all my reseach is via internet until the papers start getting into it in a few months.

I'm leaning towards Edwards right now, but it's so hard to take any political candidate seriously.

I don't really fit in with any party or candidate on issues across the board. For instance, I would love to see publicly funded health care, but I'm not a fan of gay marriage. I wish we could vote on issues directly, rather than choosing a person and hoping they make the same decisions we would.

I consider myself a conservative Republican BUT I am definitely supporting Obama. I'd love to see a woman in the White House but Hillary is not that woman!

I had not heard of Ron Paul before, and I just noticed an article on the 2008 candidates in the news that referred to him as a "free market libertarian in Republican's clothes". Sounds a little scary to me, but I have not actually done any research on the guy.

I guess I am out on a limb by myself....which isn't unusual. Lol. So far Mitt Romney is my favorite. Yes, you guessed it. I am very conservative. I don't know much about Ron Paul either. And I don't trust Hillary and though Obama is my state senator, he is pretty liberal for me. But I could change my mind 20 times before the election.

May God bless those who love the soil,

Patsy

I agree that a female voice would be lovely, however we have enough harsh, angry, agressive females in Washington (and Hollywood) already. Giving them power behind those voices would be devestating. Their voice is definitely not my voice. I still do not know for whom I will vote, but it's going to be for a man. :)

I am going to regret this but......... 1. I am from NC and when John Edwards was elected Senator he promised that he was "for the common man", which is so offensive. What are we? Government subjects? He missed 85 percent of the senate meetings and the opportunity to vote. He used the people of NC and his office as a stepping stone to run in the presidential race. The people of NC have been totally disgusted with his lack of interest in what goes on here at home. 2. O'Bama, no way. Yes he's a nice guy. There is so much more I can say about him but it's best I keep it to myself. 3. Hillary is a user. Much like John Edwards. Did you know she wanted to eliminate income taxes for Puerto Ricans living in NY? It doesn't take a Philadelphia lawyer to figure out why she would suggest that. Another way to get votes by any means. Most politicians are only interested in getting elected because of their huge egos. They need the attention and the adoration and the power. Yes there are a few genuine politicians who really care about this country but very few. I have never voted for someone just because they were democrat or republican. I vote for the individual and what I believe they stand for. Sometimes I have been disappointed.

I too agree with Tracy about John Edwards and so would alot more north carolinans democrat or republican. If some one who is running doesn't have the support of his home state then others ought to be wary of that person. I don't know who I will vote for yet but it won't be edwards obama or hillary .

Karen, Tracy and Garliclady, you all said what I would, but now don't need to. When we lived in Akansas at the time of Clinton, we didn't like him as Gov. with all his garbage and controversy, and then suprise, he continued the pattern in the white house. Definitly don't want the Mrs. as President.

Thank you ladies for your very honest opinions. I really do like to make an informed decision before I vote so really appreciate others input. I am like Patsy and can change my mind several times before the actual voting takes place.

This has been great! Just what I needed/wanted! I am a libra. and like others have said have such a difficult time making up my mind. I am sure I will change it many times before election day. It is so hard as I have very conserative views on some things but am a "flaming liberal" whenit comes to others...LOL. Tracy nothing to regret! I think the women here admire some who speaks her mind...I know I do, whether I agree or not. I value the opinions of hardworking women and really wanted the imput of ya'll...sure means more to me then what the internet or radio can tell me about any of these candidates. Thanks!
