Hi Stephanie-
I picked up tatting after reading MaryJane's "Stitching Room" book. I don't know if you have seen it or not yet, but she has great instructions in it! Infact, I just started in June while I was on my trip to Wyoming. I needed something to do at the airport while I waited for my planes- so I taught myself (Or should I say MaryJane taught me?) at the airport! :)
I find that it is actually pretty easy once you master a few basic stitches. I do the needle tatting because that is what the book had instructions for.

Hi Ladies!
I am going to be sending out emails but I wanted to make sure I had everyone down who wants to participate and everyone who wants to drop recorded as well. Please let me know!
Oh and remember that just adding decoration to the pillowcases works too- it doesn't have to be embroidery. It could be a pillowcase that you embellish with lace and ribbon- rickrack or whatever you can think up!
Thanks!
Alee

Hello gals, I am going to check out the first page on this swap to see what's what. It sounds like something I'd enjoy doing! Is there room for me?

Yarnmamma and Cheryl- I have added you both to the swap! So far you both need to just make 2 pillowcases each instead of 4, but that might change if someone else wants to join, ok?

Hi Linda-
You read my mind! I was going to bump this up today too! LOL Thanks!
Yes, the deadline is still end of October, but please let me know if you need some extra time and we can work something out.
When you send me your pillowcases, please either enclose a Self-Addressed Stamped Envelope of the same size that you sent yours in, or a check/cash/money order for the same amount in postage. They should be pretty cheap to mail since they should fold down nicely.
Linda- yes just make 2. Since there was an odd number of people in your group you will be trading just one on one.

Alee,Alee,Alee...I am just getting back to you about these pillowcases.. I had another Heart Attack, and it took the wind out of my sails.. I have one case done and am trying to work on the other one..Then I need to get another set some place for my other partner....I had no way to get this information to you since I was in hospital for a while and hubby has no idea how to even turn this computer on....and would not know how or who to email......So sorry, but I am working at my pace at the moment.

Oh My gosh Margie!
I hope you are healing up quickly! I know how devasting a heart attack can be. You said another? How many have you had?
I am on the slow mend with horrible head cold that is leaving me in a daze most of the time. I just got up from a nap. Thankfully Nora is teething so she needs lots of naps too!
I will get everyone's emails all sorted today and tomorrow and get my address mailed to everyone.
Margie- If you need to take some extra time to get your pillowcases done- I am sure your group will understand, and if they want we can always just recombine you with whatever group seems to need some extra time. I know how swaps are, and there are going to be a few people who need extra time. That's fine with me. This should be fun- No Stress!
You take care of that heart and heal up strong! I know you will have lots of farmgirls thinking about you!
*hugs*

Alee - I do not have a computer right now and I had totally forgotten about the swap deadline for the swap..actually I had completely forgotten about the swap (a lot going on!) So you should probably take me out of it unless you decide to extend the deadline. I hope to have a new PC by next week or will check on my friends. thanks ...sorry to screw things up MaryAnn

That's okay MaryAnn! Don't worry! I know how it goes! I will go ahead and remove your name, but I will probably do another after the holidays so maybe you can participate then. :D

Hi Alee!
Do you think we should just have everyone in the swap check in to see if they all remember and are still in? I checked the profiles of the other girls in my group and one doesn't have any current posts listed, and the other hasn't posted since the first of Sept. It might be a good idea to be sure everyone is still around and is still planning to play.

Hi Kathy-
That is my project for the day. I might also break the groups up so it is one on one since some of the groups only have 2 now anyways. Then those who have already made two sets could sign up for 2 one on ones if they want, or keep some of their own work. Keep tuned for updates! :D

I just sent out an email about the swap and here it is just incase anyone has switched emails :D
Hi Ladies!
This is a reminder of the Embroidered/Decorated Pillowcase swap that is due at the end of the month. Please put it in the mail no later that Oct. 31 so I can get them all swapped out and into the mail.
Please reply to this email to let me know if you are still participating or not.
Also if you are running out of time or forgot about this swap (don’t worry! It happens to all of us!) Please let me know if you would like to be in a group that is just doing one set of pillowcases instead of two sets. I know that it might make it be easier.
So just to re-cap
1) Please let me know if you are still in and if you want to be in a group swapping one set or two
2) Send me your pillowcases along with a self-addressed stamped envelope of the same size that you sent yours to me with
Thanks!
Alee
