It's a once blooming climbing rose, but it's smell is intoxicating. Everytime you go outside you're hit with the smell. The flowers start out pink then turn white. It's almost going to cover the clothes line this year. It's trying to climb up the tree too!

My God Shannon, that's a beautiful rose! How warm does it get in the spring time there in Oregon? The roses here, just southwest of Chicago, began blooming a few weeks ago. I haven't seen anything compared to yours though! I do wish I could smell it too!

I'm not sure what kind it is. My mother-in-law planted it, before we switched houses. We live in the Willamette valley, so it doesn't get real cold here. Think rain, lol. I even had snap dragons over winter and bloom again. My roses from last year bloomed the beginning of May and the ones I planted this year the end of May.

Shannon -
Is it a ice berg rose? That is what I have on my porch, starts out pink then turns white and has a sweet smell.
Here is a close up of mine. Our whole porch smells wonderful while this is in bloom.

How beautiful, Shannon! It looks like a cloud come down to earth.

Tina -
You can purchase climbing and rambling roses like this through Jackson-Perkins Roses. I believe they have a website. My particular iceberg rose came from Edmunds Roses, which was onced owned by my brother-in-law Phil Edmunds. But just recently they sold the Edmunds Roses name and business to a company I believe out of Minnesota. You can still do a google on Edmunds Roses and I believe it will take you to the new company and I think you can purchase the roses through them.
The iceberg is nice because it grows like a weed - mine is about 15' long and takes very little care.

I'm not sure if it is an iceburg either. I have the non-climbing iceburg and it has bigger flowers than that climbing rose. Tina I'm not sure what kind would grow good in Florida. I have a rose magazine that has all that info in it, but what do you know I can't find it right now. Maybe try the American Rose Society website and I'll keep looking for my magazine.:)
