I celebrate ME!!! It's my Birthday!! I usally just take the day to do whatever I wish!! We usually go out to eat or J makes the meals!! I refuse to cook that day!!
Since it is in the middle of the week, we will most likely see the fireworks on June 30th.

Hubby works on the 4th, so we're celebrating on the 3rd. We're going to have a barbeque lunch at my mother's house, making homemade icecream in the machine she bought a couple years ago and has hardly used. The city Parks & Rec department holds a firework display at the baseball park a mile away every year. Since they don't want it to conflict with the big downtown display, they do it the day before the 4th, so we'll have fireworks too! I'm going to wear my "Freedom isn't Free" teeshirt, which I only pull out for patriotic holidays because it's white and I'm a stain magnet in white!

We always go to the Field Days at the school my DH graduated from. It's donation only, and they do a fantastic job. Lots of old fashioned games for the kids, father/son, mother/daughter egg tosses, guess who are Mr & Mrs America and finally a very large fireworks show complete with music. Ahhh, we look forward to it every year!

Our little town does it up big...parade in the morning..which goes right down our street..we can watch it from the front porch!! Since the city park is down the road from us and that is where the parade ends we get to have it go past..it is always cute! And then at the park there is stuff going on all day..really old fashioned 4th of July celebration and then a big fireworks show that night at the fair grounds here in town too.

We'll be going to Willie Nelson's 4th of July Barbeque at the Gorge near George, WA. My daughter & her boyfriend asked us to go and I have no idea what it will be like, but I'm sure we'll have lots of fun. Usually, we just have a barbeque at home.

I'm excited, this is the first year we're making a bigger deal out of it. We're going to have a picnic meal, and set off fireworks (age appropriate for dd, which means this year it's poppers and sparklers), and read the Declaration of Independence. I hope it sparks a good discussion. |

OUr town has a parade down Main Street; all of about one mile from the HS, where they line up, to the fire station, where they break up. Always fun. We may drive down to the next town to watch fire works, but after packing to evacuate from a fire in the neighborhood this past Sunday, we may skip it and just stay put! Sharon

We're having a cookout at Missy's -- all the kids will be there plus Patricia Utahfarmgirl. We'll have burgers and lots of other goodies, chocolate cake, outdoor games in the afternoon, then fireworks in the evening. It's supposed to be hot, 95 degrees and humid. But that's ok because usually it's overcast, cold, and we're wrapped in blankets for fireworks. This will be a nice change. Hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th. I'm off to make 7 Layer Salad for tomorrow.

We are going to just hang, dh and me. We were going to go to church picnic, cause that is our extra family. But at ver 90 degree predictions I think that we will be sitting in the nice air contioned house and taking it easy. We have ribs we will barbeque and watermelon I already cut up. A salad and we are good. Fireworks aren't allowed here so we go watch them or just enjoy the evening and the freedom that we have.
Enjoying the moments. |
