Nora got her immunizations yesterday. Today she is running a 101.1 temp. I wish there was something I could do to make her feel better- but it is better to have a little illness rather than get really really sick.

Tylenol, nursing. That's about it. IF her fever is over 101.5 I would call the doc/nurse. If she has ANY type of a reaction at all call them - fever, crying unconsolably, really red leg, won't let you touch her leg. They legally are supposed to report it to VAERS.

Personally we don't do immunizations anymore --- learned more about it after my first three.

Hope she feels better.

Yeah, it is pretty normal, and 101 isn't really too high foe a wee one. I hope she is not too fussy. Keep her cool and give an extra hug. MaryBeth

Thanks Holly, thats pretty much what I have been doing. She is sleeping a lot which could be a good thing for the flight. I could just feel the heat radiating off of her. I have thought she has had a fever before, but was never right. But I knew that she had a fever as soon as I picked her up. She was way to hot for it just to have been her blanket's fault. She has been so good though, hardly crying at all.

Alee -- the sleepiness and fever are normal with most kids when they get shots. My 13 yr old got 3 boosters this week and she felt icky for two days. Tylenor or ibuprofen will make her feel more comfortable. Hope the little sweetie is feeling better by tomorrow.

hope she is feeling better. did they tell you that 30 minutes before they are suposed to recieve their shot you should give them a bit of baby tylenol?
that's what they always used to tell me before the kids got their shots.
It helped with the pain and also if they got a wee fever after.
certainly hope that she gets to feeling better soon.
best of wishes and I hope the flight goes well. perhaps a binky would help her to keep her ears from getting sore during the altitude changes.

I used to give Steph the tylenol about 30 minutes before her baby shots and it really helped. Hope Nora is feeling better.

Today is the first day where she is really back to being herself again. I couldn't tell if she had a fever yesterday, and didn't have time to take her temperature with all the traveling we were doing. Today she is eating and playing again on her normal schedule. Speaking of which she is crying for me now...

Mine always slept a lot after their vaxes and I gave them baby tynelol. Of course, mine didn't get nearly the shots they give now. Poor little babies, getting stuck with so many shots at once! Doesn't it make you want to cry when they do? Hopefully, she will be back to normal in a day or so.

There is also homeopathic meds you can give beforehand if you choose to vaccinate - Thuja andLedum are the two biggies and they really do help.

Maybe for the next round you could try those first.

Blessings!
