I visited these urban homesteaders when I lived in Pasadena. They have a tiny little suburban property and have done AMAZING and beautiful things. Even those with more land will appreciate their work: www.pathtofreedom.com

WOW! Thanks for the link, so much great info and a really great site to navigate. I will check in here often when I get discouraged about my limitations in the 'burbs!They are definitely an example of what can be accomplished ANYWHERE!

I've been visiting that website for a few years now and absolutely love it. I hadn't thought to share it with everyone here so thanks for doing so lurban. I find all sorts of inspiration from the things these homesteaders are doing.
