Hi Elizabeth-

You soaps sound wonderful! For some reason your picture did not show on the forum.

I love the names you have given some of them, like Midnight Sugar, Full Moon, and Dragon's Blood!

I love making soaps and I am can tell you do too!

You can't see them, but trust me, they're good and they look scenic.

Told E that my soaps wanted to be her soaps when they grow up. :-)

Hey Elizabeth,

Your soaps are beautiful! Do you make them with the Cold Process method? Any do you have any dairy goats to make the goat's milk soap?

I used to have a herd of Nubians and American Saanens...All the soap makers like to use the Nubian milk due to it's higer butterfat.

I use unscented goat's milk soap now due to my skin becoming very sensitive to fragrance over the past 10 years. I miss the days where I could soap in a lavender bath :o)

Fortunately, my love for Rose and Lavender can be enjoyed through the organic lavender buds that I keep around and my incence. I enjoy making the lavender sugar to use in hot and cold tea.

Talk to ya later,
Stephanie

Yes these are CP soaps. But I dont have goats milk soap in the regular line. I made it about 10 yrs ago once.
Because of my market segment, all of the soaps are vegan except for the Oatmeal milk & Honey and the Honey soap. Yep, honey is considered an animal product too, but I will be dropping if off the line because it is just not moving fast enough for me to keep it.

But thanks everyone...

Who else makes soap? Lets see Pics!!!

I just bought a bunch of Amish soap the other day. The wrapping was so cute!! They took pieces of cloth that corresponded with the soap (example: the kitchen soap was wrapped in 'vegetable' printed cloth) and the info piece outside of that. Underneath the cloth it was wrapped in some sort of papery-stuff. Plus they smell a treat too.

I like anything that smells like Sunflowers or gardenia...yummy.

Winona :-)

Don't sweat the small stuff...

I know a lot of soapers who do the fabric thing. I dont, I use velumn. I also have never done well with floral scents... Just not my market, but I know others who can not keep Lily of the Valley and Lilac in stock. Which is great, when I feel like something that is not on my line, Usually a soaper will pull though for me and send me a bar.

http://www.moongarden.us/soaps_h-z.htm is a friend of mine and she makes a great Lily of the valley, lilac Gardinia soap.

I have a question and it may seem dumb, but will the honey soaps attract bees? Can I wear them around the beehives?

They're beautiful, Elizabeth!

I do sheep milk soap here.

Winona...I've got news for you...sometimes those Amish Soaps aren't Amish at all. I was contacted a couple years ago by an Amish store and they requested I make some soap for them that they could pass off as being Amish made. After a couple weeks of negotiations, they decided to go with someone else, which quite honestly I was happy for.

Erin, No idea if it will attract or repel bees. Since insects smell differently than humans, and I know little to nothing about entomology... dont know. The actual honey in it actually has no scent, and reacts like any other sugar in the soap. I do add a fragrance oil that smells just like honey tastes. I have been told that it actually smalls like propolis.

So who would be up for a soap swap?

The reason why I was asking is that my hubby is buiding some more hives and some of the components smell like honey and apparently the honey pheromones attract the bees or something. They can't wait for him to finish the new hives...

Erin, I think it would depend on how much honey is in the soap. Plus, I doubt the honey scent would cling that strongly to you (but try it, will you, and let us know if you get stung so we can avoid it? )

Elizabeth, I may be up for a swap as long as it's not too many bars and perhaps even half sized?
