I just can't belive it was so easy! Here I thought blogging was something the youngsters were doing. Either I was really wrong or I'm really hip! I can hardly wait to tell my daughter what I did today. She's had to walk me through so many things on the net. Well, here it is:

How cool! My favorites are the ones in that picture second from the bottom, but they are all just amazing. You're very talented!

Lovely, Lisa Marie! I'm sorry I was sick in bed on Saturday and didn't get to see them in person at the Past Blessings show. You will go far, my friend. Just beautiful! Judy

Lisa-

Great blog, baskets and gourds! You should make and Etsy website too! I bet you could get some sales through that avenue as well!

Fantastic! Now, to get you an etsy shop...I see lots of gals have them, and I hope they are having success selling their wonderful things to the large audience out there looking for great handmade items.

I'm not sure about Etsy yet. I think I'll try selling them through our website first: mountainfarmgirls.com and see what happens. The site is still under construction but we are hoping to have it finished by the end of this month.
Thank you all for your kind words and support. It means a lot to me. I love you gals!

So, Naomi, what have you done with gourds? Do you paint or burn?

Lisa, I usually paint the gourds, and sometimes attach other gourd parts etc...here is my web album with most of what I've done...I've not done to much, especially this year...http://picasaweb.google.com/GourdMaster/GourdArt
The biggest black cat won me 2nd place, and the big white chicken 3rd, both this year at the Marion county gourd show in Ocala,FL...last year I got best of category for my age group, also 1st and honorable mention at the State gourd show in Palatka, FL....can ya tell I'm bragging?:P
Cheers,

~Naomi~

How creative, Naomi! They are just wonderful. I'm not much ov a painter. Nor am I any good at seeing animals and such in things either. Your gourds are really cute and fun.
