I have been trying to convince my advisor that welding should be a requirement for an Agriculture degree so that financial aid will help pay for the class. She's usually very helpful as I am the only "organic" Ag student in my classes. But on welding she will not budge. I have to take a class on Ag technology which wil be a waste of time and money because the only class offered locally is on winery equipment. I don't want to make wine...ugh!
When all is said and done with our farm, I want to teach or at least facilitate homesteading skill classes. For the things I know little about I would like to contract with an expert to teach and I'll provide the accomadations and downtime entertainment..
Thoughts on classes have been- Organic growing, soil health, composting (MJ type stuff) but also creative things like watercolor or oil painting pottery throwing cheesemaking vegan cooking crocheting and now I think...... WELDING! Not some super testosterone filled underwater welding specialty, but the basics and safety and what to look for in a welding machine and maybe a crafty welding project to take home.
Maybe even some torch cutting for crafty metal work. What do you all think? Would need a contact for either a very gentle male to teach classes or even better a woman who knows her stuff. If you or someone you know is interested in teaching such a thing or any other useful or creative skills that other women might like to learn, please contact me. I'm not ready to go yet but I am putting together my resource list.

I want to be an "outrageous" old woman who never gets called an old lady. I want to be wiser, resonate love & peace and be earth-colored, till I fade away from pure joy!
