night Carol Sue...
Elizabeth...I was homeschooled, and in the state of Florida, you can quit school at age 16...I was ready to finish school, if I had continued, I would have 3 years more ahead of me....
I've still got my books, and figure, if I feel like I need to study anymore, I've got the tools to do it right here...I personally dont see the benefit of college, I dont plan to be anything that requires special training...just your average seamstress...hehe...and i'm gonna hit the hay now too.....
nighters...

I'm getting a larger area of the house for my sewing. My hubby is stripping out the basement, we are putting in laminate floors and I have a wall of bookshelves to sort my fabric on....................so, I will be returning my dining room back into a dining room soon.

Now here is an update on the treadle affliction from just a couple of minutes ago. I emailed an old Craigslisting in the next county over. The listing was from August 11th, so I didn't think there was much chance of it still being available. She just emailed me saying it was still available!! Woo Hoo......she is going to post photos of it tonight around 8pm. I really hope it is in working shape. It is posted for $100 or Best Offer.

Hmmmm...........vee shall see!!

I was thinking...surprise...Bev...do you have a really good sewing machine repair guy/chica that is near your farm? Maybe we could get someone to come out and give us a little hands on seminar for cleaning vintage machines and their parts! I am sitting here cleaning each little part and piece on pins and needles...dont wanna mess it up. Just a possiblity!

Elizabeth..you are bidding on all the stuff I wanna bid on..good thing I know your screenname!!

Back to laundry, treadle, sweep, treadle, dishes, treadle, fold laundry, treadle!!! Eeeekkkss....I made some aprons with thetreadle...cannot decide if they are good enough to share, I am still not entirely fluid.

Gosh Bev...I am so excited for you and your husband and your anniversary today...I love romantic mush...sucker for it everytime...probably why I keep having more kiddos..whoopss....romance...whooops...romance...whoops/whoops!!!! Anyway..hope you 2 have a great day!!

Well, ain't you sweet to post a pattern. Like the cherries! Have you tried enlarging the pattern yet? Wondering if I could just Kinko-it to 400% like other ones, perhaps.

Also like those teacups too!

If Apronstock actually happens, lemme know. Are you anywhere near Fallingwater? Always wanted to go there too! :-)

Gosh you guys cover some ground while i sleep.. !

I have had the worst lingering stupid Migraine lately.. since LAST Thursday.. Finally seemed to let up Yesterday.. & Of course THAT was my ONLY day off.. !

Bonne.. Your New Treadle is JUST GORGEOUS!! The Machine AND The Cabinet!!! WOW!!
& the price was just fabulous!!
Mine was a really simple.. simple cabinet.. nothing ornate on it.. & was in fair at best shape.. But the machine is nice.. I still need to get a belt for it.. & I haven't messed with it at all though since i've just felt like taking a drill to my head.. Maybe next week end..

I DID find something intersting in the cabinet though that completly mortified my Husband..
Knowing ME.. & My Husband.. you Girls will just LOVE this..

Spiders.. or more like loads of Spider eggs.. he was pretty freaked out.. I promised to get rid of them..
( Naturally i'll just move them some where else Till I can see what they Are!!)
He's such a chicken Little!! Yes.. if he weren't.. I probably wouldn't get such a thrill out of it!

Tell us more about this commercial. It's not a late night "give me a call" one, is it? LOL

Kathie, my machine needs a belt, so I'm not treadling yet either, but hope to be soon. Although my serger has me totally spoiled and lazy. I've been searching for more info online about it and treadles in general. What would we do for info without the net? It would take forever to gather the info if we could find it. Seems like "Pre-internet" days we were like cavemen.

oh okay...i think most heard about it, but you were on hiatus i think george and bonne..well you just got here!! In mid july we had a camera crew come here for 16 hours from pbs and film 47mins of tape, for a 2 minute commercial for the annual pbs fund drive! It was fillmed in many rooms of my house with all my kiddos and myself and my husband...it is a parody about a family that has incorporated pbs into most aspects of their life! It turned out fairly cute and corny all at once! Of course, I had to clean mt a** of to get ready for it, and that sort of thing, but apparently it is being shown in public now! My bro in law wants to put it on utube, but I do not know if we are allowed to. Anyway, the station made a bunch of copies of it..so i am giving them to the curious!

Geez, you guys are Celebs!!! I shoulda had Georgann autograph the apron she made me and then sell it on Ebay!!! LOL I could retire! ROFL!

Ok, I'm just thrilled because I found bobbins & belt on Ebay to fit my treadle. Thought it would be more difficult.

Georgann, offer the gal less for the machine~she's probably wanting it gone. Mine was on Craig's list for 2 months and she wanted it out of her garage so she could get the other car in! LOL Buy it anyway if she won't budge. I'm twiddling around with the idea of going back to the Antique Mall and looking at that $95 machine I spied the other day. Where can I hide another treadle sewing machine? Addicting as crack~you all did warn me tho...........

Thanks Jess! Do you use a pattern for your full apron or do you do it out of your head. I still have to use patterns or good directions! But I'd like to find a nice full apron pattern.
