I was listening to The Splendid Table this weekend while out about going toi garage sales. There was a man on who spoke about wild forage, which is near and dear to me with the bounty I have in my woods. We dont get rid of dandelions or anything sans the buckthorn.

He shared a great recipe for dandelion cookies, which we promptly went out when we got home and picked a basket full, got the green off the heads and made. They were delish!!! They would go really well with a mild flower tea, like chamomile, IMO, and were I to make them again (most likely will) I would add a tish more honey to them or some stevia to make them a little more appealing to the wee ones.

Here is the link to the recipe: http://splendidtable.publicradio.org/recipes/dessert_dandelioncookies.shtml

I hope you enjoy them as much as we did!

What a great recipe Tasha
I will have to fight the goats for some dandelions (not that my farm is not covered with them) they are one of their fav's and is great for them too! For years I have been the only one out here that does not spray pounds of chemicals all over their farm and have even gotten nasty comments from the McMansion residents because they feel that these lovely yellow beauties are taking their market value down. I have even given them recipes (I forgot they don't cook but eat out) upon which one lady stated she only purchases her vegetables at the store. I can not wait to make the cookies and thanks again for sharing.

Wow. Who would have thought? I'm going to try this ASAP (ie, before my whole backyard turns to fuzzy clocks!)
