I am just learning how to crochet and I am doing something wrong. My squares start out just fine but get smaller as I go along. The lady who is teaching me just had a hip replacement and I don't want to bother her right now. Help please. Pretty soon I will be crocheting triangles.

May God bless those who love the soil,

Patsy

Your not picking up all of your stitches as you go across the row. Rip it out to where it's even and then start again. But you have to be leaving a stitch out at the end. If you have to, count the stitches in the row that looks even so you'll know how many stitches per row. Hope I've made sense.

sound like you are either skipping your first stitch after you turn or leaving off the last stitch at the end of the row in the top of the last turning chain, or you are doing both count your stitches for each row and continue to do this till you are comfortable and consistent.

have a lovely day and may God bless you and keep you safe
