Hello Farmgirls,
My DH and I along with our motorcycle are planning on visiting the states of Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and maybe Lousiana later on this month. We love to antique, junk it, eat local food, see local people and sites, stay in local places (not those fancy hotels). We love Jazz, Blues and old fashion Rock and Roll. We like to travel the back roads, less traffic and more adventure. We love museums of all kinds, historical sites, park and forests. We are looking at starting our adventure and ending it around the Louisville/Fort Knox Kentucky area. We want to trailer our bike from Wisconsin and leave the trailer and vehicle there for about 2 weeks. If any one know of a safe place that we could leave those two items that would be wonderful. We will start in Kentucky and work our way south and then back north on the Great River Road until we hit the Blue Grass Parkway. Then back to pick up our vehicle and trailer and bring the bike back to good old Wisconsin. We will be picking up the Great River Road and Natchez Trail some place outside of Baton Rouge. We have about 2 weeks. If you have any suggestions on sites to see, places to stay, food to eat, music to hear, Antiques to shop for, (we are pro's at having large items shipped always find the big stuff when on a bike), Please let me know. I have only 2 weeks to pull of this planning. Good thing we have the Farmgirls and a GPS to help us out. I'm getting so excited just me, my hubby and the open road.

Betty Jo, a small town, Scottsburg, Indiana has about 3 really nice antique stores. When you get to Scottsburg, just ask where the square is. Thats where the antique stores are at. Prices are cheaper than what you'd find in the bigger cities. There is a truck stop in Austin, Indiana that you could park your trailor. I could have my hubby and son-in-law keep tabs on it. They are both police officers and would be in the area a lot of the time. Austin and Scottsburg both are about an hour North of Louisville. Have a safe trip.
~~Blessings, Mikki Jo

Warm Springs, GA. It's where FDR had his summer White House, and it is where he died. It is such a beautiful, peaceful place. You can tour the house, a small museum and where he had his therapy as well. The little town is rife with shops of all sorts. It will keep you busy for sure. There is also Pine Mountain, where Callaway Gardens is located. It's a bit pricey but it is very beautiful and the butterfly house can't be beat.
In North GA, there is Barnsley Gardens, Helen, and Dahlonega. Macon is a very interesting place to visit as well as Madison, for old Southern homes.
There's just tons of stuff in GA to see!! HAve a great trip. :)
