My aunt just sent invites out to the family for a third annual event at my Grandma's house and this year it is a Rennaisance festival. Each relative is to set up a booth or have a demastration and I decided on a booth but have no idea what to make!! We are to "sell" or barter our products with the other relatives. With two small children and me not being handy with crafts I was thinking of just having bags of kettle corn and cups of peanuts but want a small craft to "sell" as well...is there anything extremely easy and cheap that I can make before this Sunday? Any ideas?!! Thanks so much!!!

You can make up small potpouri bags. Just stitch it up and add a drawstring and throw in your potpouri. Actually walmart sells small drawstring bags in the craft section, but I think there probably not the look you might be wanting. Or small pincushions would be even easier. Look on my etsy and see the one there. The square paisley one, just leave off the spool of thread to make it quicker or add it either one. Their a whiz to sew up, even by hand!

I think the sachet bags are a great idea... quick and easy. What about head wreaths? Some one is always making these and selling them at Renaissance Faires with silk flowers and satin ribbons. Every little girl who walks by our booth seems to be wearing one.

I think that some of us will be dressing up (I'm going to try to come up with an outfit) but my aunt is providing a dress up tent with outfits for the kids to try on and wear. My grandma has four acres of beautiful wooded land and in the middle of the woods is a clearing that is perfect for parties and such. Last year my aunt put together a princess party for the kids and had tables with lace set up...it was beautiful and the kids had a blast!
Thank you for your ideas...I'm going to go to Wal-mart to get materials for the sachets and look for materials for head wreaths. This is becoming more and more fun! :o)

You could also look online for a "slime" recipe. I made it in high school but can't remember what the recipe was. Dye it green with food coloring and sell it as "dragon snot!"! It will be a hit with the kids! lol haha

My favorite thing I bought at a ren fest was a small glass vile, that had a cork in it with a wire stuck in the cork with a circle at the end of the wire. They filled the vile with dish soap......and it was a bubble....thing (you could go around and blow bubbles) it was really small. And it was on a satin cord to hang around your neck. It was real tiny. (about 1 1/2 inches tall, and maybe 1/2 inch wide) I wore it to high school just about every day! lol haha I believe it was hand blown glass, it had gold painting on it as a design, where the glass had been built up a little. I don't know if you could find some of these little viles or not.....but you may be able to find something.

Oh yeah, At silver dollar city they used to do this thing to your hair......they used some kind of wire type cord (you get it at the hardware store) that is stiff yet flexable...put a piece of cloth on it-so it's completely covered. Then put it on the head like a halo. Then you start at the front take a selction of hair and loop it around, then add antoehr section and keep going till you go all around the head and have all the hair twisted on it, then you can add flowers. My mom made mine.....for my wedding and did it for me....it doesn't take long....and is quick and easy to make......here's a pic of me on my wedding day wearing it...
