I did the first overnight visit on our farm this past weekend. I wrote all about it in my blog and have lots of pics. Will add more later this week.

Erin -- sounds like you had quite the noisy first night! Isn't it funny that when we are used to all the noise of the city that the country noises keep us awake? You will get used to everything and will soon be sleeping like a baby. I admire you for staying there by yourself! I'm impressed.

Erin,
Am so very excited for you!! Before you know it you will be out on your farm for good! It is true that the country brings a whole new set of noises that you have to get use to, but hopefully they will soon be your luluby! I loved reading your blog and seeing the pictures! Erin, I've just spent an hour reading your blog. I find it fascinating!! You are so brave to stay out there all alone with those coyotes howling. I think I'd find an old fashioned chamber pot to keep inside with me through the night!! Can coyotes jump fences? I was just thinking about your beautiful goats. Their wool is beautiful. I got a good laugh of the image of you, goats and fiskars!! LOL......alot like me with my two ShihTzu's. LOL

Thanks for sharing....sure hope your road is done soon

Erin, Just think, you are just like a modern pioneer! I am so happy for you. Someday you won't be able to sleep without those coyotes "singing" you to sleep!

Hi Erin-enjoyed reading your blog. Those coyotes are scary. We have one who shows up now and again but keeps a distance-thank goodness! Your place looks beautiful and it sounds like you are enjoying it. Love the goats! Thanks for sharing!

erin,
enjoyed hearing about the first night on the farm.
i think you do get used to the coyotes, but there sound is quite startling dont you think. we have a group out here and they make their presense known, but thanks to cosmo the wonder dog, they dont hurt any of our farm animals.
keep postin, i enjoy so much hearing about the progress at the farm and your adventures out there.

love

Your post made me think about when we moved to this house 3 years ago. I was so glad to be away from all the traffic and music noise in the city, but the frogs and crickets drove me nuts. There are apparently plenty of coyotes around in GA where we're purchasing acreage so I'll have to get used to that as well. I look so forward to reading more of your blog as I'm able.

Wow you have a eventfull night. I love all your pictures. As a side note, i don't have running water and I have a short painters bucket that I keep inside at night for those middle of the night emergencies. As i9 tell my other half all the time "I Don't Do The Dark" He laughes at me but i have never gotten over the fear of the dark. there are thing out there that are going to get me I just know it.

Erin, You are very brave! LOL I dream of adding a screened sleeping area to one of our porches, but probably would be too chicken to sleep out all night alone.

You place looks very lovely. I imagined you sitting outside in the early morning, making coffee on the cookstove-nothing better! I'm very happy your dream is taking shape so nicely!
Blessings,
Rhonda
