MaryJane's first book and all of the magazines have some great ideas, but I like to put hamburger or stew meat, carrots, celary, onions, and garlic in mine- Yummy!

I got my skillet a long time ago, when it had a different handle - one that you could order that would be oven proof. Like many of you, I threw away my non-stick pans and got stainless steel. But my bakeover is the original Maryjane skillet. What was that one made of?

Hi JPBluesky, Same thing, anodized, not teflon. The first skillets are just as safe, but come with a folding handle now and lighter in weight. |

Jeannie...I have the older one too..my kids call it the "egg pan" since I use it for scrambled eggs ALOT..as well as bakeovers. I do need to get the bigger size too, though..big family!

MaryJane - thank you for the swift answer! Always nice to get a reply from the queen bee! And Jenny - don't you love the one we have? I had it out last night using it, and I looked it over, and decided it looked different than teflon - I guess that is because it is anodized! :)
I cooked veggies in mine last night. Beans and fresh tomatoes.
I would like to have a bigger one, too - umm.....I'll put that on my Christmas list!

Hi Fellow FarmGirls.. My new Bakeover came today!!!!!! Now I need to see about scouting out MJ's cookbook and or magazines for bakeover recipes. I love that this pan is like a little wok, some many uses, so many dishes, LOL Glad as all get out, I got the 11" pan.

I must be sleep deprived because for a second I read your post as "I broke it this morning..." and I wondered how the heck you managed to do that...LOL!!! I am so glad you liked it! Isn't it great? I think it works even better than Teflon actually and I love not worrying about nasty fumes or teflon flakes...
I even hard boil my eggs in it!

I would be crying the blues Alee if I broke it, lol I made a stir fry in it for lunch today and wrapped it in a steamed savory cabbage leaf, yummolicous!! My son and I are going camping on our birthday and I plan to pack this little gem in the jeep. I think my friends are going to fall in love with it, when they see it in action..

After reading all the posts, I took the plunge yesterday and ordered the 11" size, along with Budget Mix and Chillover powder. Can't wait for it to get here, may take a couple of weeks! |

You're going to laugh, I was literally floating out of the post office yesterday--my parcel came, and in one week! Can't wait to try this skillet. Too bad I had to work through last night's dinner, and tonight, too! I will finally get to try it for Saturday night's supper, with the Budget mix that came, too. I'm thinking potatoes, bacon, garlic....
This was a splurge for me, and the parcel cost $33 in postage, but I think of it as an investment for my family.(have to justify it, right?!!)

Lori-
It certainly is an investment in your family! :D You will love cooking with it and you don't need to use oil because it is non-stick like teflon but with out the dangers of teflon. Oh I am so excited for you! I use mine all the time- even when I am not cooking Bake-Overs! I have even hard-boiled eggs in mine!
